With the release of The legacy of HogwartsAvalanche Software was able to deliver what many call the dream Harry Potter game. For the first time in a AAA title, players could explore Hogwarts, attend classes and tell their own story rooted in the mythology of the iconic series. Due to its success, a Hogwarts Legacy 2 already seems to be approaching the horizon. And while there are many paths it can take, an extension can take The legacy of Hogwarts concept to incredible new heights.
The legacy of Hogwarts aimed to deliver an authentic Harry Potter experience, and while it wasn't perfect, it mostly delivered on that promise. Now that the foundation has been laid, Avalanche has the chance to expand it immensely with new classes, stories, locations, and Wizarding World secrets. But perhaps the biggest addition could come in the form of spellcasting. As long as it sticks to the franchise's lore, such a feature could be just what the next adventure needs.

Harry Potter has an extensive history of spellcrafting
Spellcrafting may simply sound like a fun way to combine iconic spells, but it's actually rooted in Harry Potter myth. Throughout the franchise's timeline, many different witches and wizards created spells. Some of them barely did anything, while others became extremely important parts of the story. In fact, is one of the most important points in the plot Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince are the spells that Severus Snape created and filled an old potions book with. Also, many fans believe that Voldemort and Hermione created spells during their time.
Casting a spell in itself is not an easy task, because if it was, probably every wizard would try to do it. Only witches and wizards with a deep understanding of magic have been able to create their own spells. Not only do they have to create the spell, but they also have to create the movements of the wand. While it is unknown exactly how they go about doing it, it is known to be very dangerous, and sometimes even fatal to the person creating the spell. And because of all that, it sounds like it could be a great addition to the next one The legacy of Hogwarts.
Hogwarts Legacy 2 can take spells to whole new heights
If Hogwarts Legacy 2 utilized this part of Harry Potter lore, then it can lead to something very special. Players could combine some of their favorite spells, create the wand move, give it a creative name, and then unleash it on their enemies. Through this, players could get all sorts of unique spells and effects, making no two playthroughs the same. Plus, if Avalanche wanted to take it even further, it could let them actually share said spells with each other.
If the Avalanche wanted to include something like this, it could follow in the footsteps of The Elder Scrolls 4: Oblivion. In that game, players who joined the Mages Guild could gain the ability to create their own spells using the Alter of Spellmaking. This allowed them to combine learned magical effects into something much more powerful. What followed was a pretty fun system that unfortunately didn't catch on Skyrimbut Hogwarts Legacy 2 could fill that void.
Of course, Avalanche would have to come up with some reason why the player character is powerful enough to do this. But it already made the main character a chosen one, so there seems no reason why it couldn't develop that idea further. Although the spellcasting feature was quite limited, its inclusion could be a great treat for fans and lead to some extremely memorable moments in the process.
