In December, a new one Mobile Suit Gundam series was announced, and people in the US will be watching in theaters! It's the first one Gundam produced by Sunrise in collaboration with studio Khara, producer of Rebuilding Evangelion (and the studio that currently holds the rights to the Evangelion franchise).
The series has the title Mobile Suit Gundam GQuuuuuuX (“GQuuuuuuuX” should be pronounced something like “G-Quacks”), and it will be written Hideaki Anno and Yoji Enokido. The director is Kazuya Tsurumaki. Anno is the creator of The Gospeland Enokido and Tsurumaki have worked on at least some parts of the series.

What can fans expect from Hideaki Anno's Gundam series?
GKIDS announced it has acquired the rights to the prologue film, Mobile Suit Gundam GQuuuuuuX -The Beginning-and it will be shown in North American (US and probably Canada) cinemas on February 28, 2025.
Mobile Suit Gundam GQuuuuuuX
The film is a prologue to the TV series, whose debut date has not yet been announced. The production team is likely to reveal more information soon, as the film is already showing in Japan.
This new story takes place in a colony in outer space. Amate Yuzuriha is an ordinary girl who goes to school, until she meets Nyaan, a war refugee, and they learn about clan wars, illegal fights using mobile suits. That's where GQuuuuuuX comes in, as it will be controlled by Amate in these battles. The thing is, space forces and the police are now after her.
Other employees who are credited in production are Take (Pokémon Sun & Moon) as a character designer, and Ikuto Yamashita (Shin Kamen Rider, Evangelion) as a mechanical designer.
Anno's involvement in the series
While Anno writes the script, Tsurumaki apparently hides the final results from him. According to Ikuto Yamashita, the project is overseen only by Tsurumaki:
Mobile Suit Gundam GQuuuuuuX supervised by Kazuya Tsurumaki. He decides everything as a director. Anno might give him some sideline support, but that's about it. As president of Khara, Anno will be informed about the progress of the project. However, [Tsurumaki] hiding everything until the last minute, to avoid falling over or having to redo everything.
GQuuuuuuX will likely be a show that anyone who hasn't seen others Gundam series can enjoy.
