A Grand Theft Auto 6 insiders with a well-known track record believe they have discovered that comedian Bobby Moynihan is voicing the character Cal Hampton. As this is one of the biggest media releases ever, excitement for Grand Theft Auto 6 growing every day as the launch window closes.
It's been over twelve years since the release of Rockstar Games' latest crime epic, and Grand Theft Auto 5 is still one of the most played titles in the world today. The developer is known for spending an enormous amount of time, sometimes ten years or more, working in total secrecy to ensure its worlds feel alive and full of detail. According to Strauss Zelnick, CEO of Rockstar's parent company Take-Two Interactive, Rockstar always strives for perfection, which explains why they moved the release date to GTA 6 several times to get the paint exactly right.
GTA 6 isn't the only game Rockstar is working on
While many fans have assumed that Rockstar's top priority is Grand Theft Auto 6, new information suggests that the studio is also developing other titles.
Revealing the voice behind GTA 6's Cal Hampton
The latest casting rumor comes from an insider named GameRoll, who recently made a very strong case for who is playing Cal Hampton. GameRoll is about “95% certain” that the part belongs to Moynihan, who spent nearly a decade on Saturday Night Live. There are several reasons for this theory, including that Moynihan's voice sounds exactly like the character's and that he bears a physical resemblance to him. Moynihan also has plenty of motion capture experience, following other actors, such as Dylan Rourke, who are already attached to the game. Moynihan has been very active lately, working on major projects such as Disney films and adult animated shows such as Star Trek: Lower Decks.
While the cast is a big mystery, even more information has been leaked about how the game will actually play. A huge list of potential features from GTA 6 was shared online, suggesting the new title will borrow several popular ideas from Red Dead Redemption 2. Players can see a similar relationship system, as well as character weight mechanics and the return of the classic 6-star desired level. Other leaked details mention the ability to walk through shopping malls and huge skyscrapers, with over 700 different shops expected to be available throughout the game world.
The game's setting, a state called Leonida, is designed to be a modern version of the Florida landscape. Players will return to the famous neon streets of Vice City in GTA 6but they will also explore new areas such as the Leonida Keys, the wilderness of Mount Kalaga National Park and the swampy grass rivers. The story itself is rumored to be divided into five different chapters, similar to how RDR2 was structured and will follow two main characters named Lucia Caminos and Jason Duval. Lucia is a woman from Liberty City who is trying to start over after a stint in prison, while Jason is a trapper who has spent his life around criminals.
There's also plenty of discussion about how much time players will actually spend on it GTA 6 story mode. Some fans are hoping for a main storyline that lasts at least 50 hours, while others want something much longer to justify the 13-year wait. If the game is anything like the studio's previous Western epics, it could take as long as 200 hours to 100% finish everything. It's a difficult balancing act for the developers, who have to meet the huge expectations of millions of people who have been waiting over a decade for a new story.

Although the wait has been long, the official launch for GTA 6 is currently set for November 19th. The game is only coming to the latest consoles, meaning those on the PS5 and Xbox Series X/S will be the first to play, while PC gamers will likely have to wait a long time for a port. As for the price, some experts are predicting that it could cost as much as $100 since the development budget is so high, although nothing has been confirmed yet. Interestingly, Rockstar isn't the only studio dealing with information leaks; also vehicular combat games like Thunder of war has a history of users sharing “sensitive documents” on public forums.
