Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas almost had a very different map
A developer who worked on Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas reveals that the game's map was almost very different in a significant way.
Twitter user Besk posted a list of changes not mentioned in the latest Grand Theft Auto Trilogy update, which includes the ability to run around with multiple weapons from Grand Theft Auto. The mobile ports and the classic versions did not have these features, making the Trilogy unique versions. It wasn't mentioned why this feature was specifically introduced in this version, but it's a change that fans agree with. However, one user asked why this feature was not included in the new one San Andreas. Another user answered that San Andreas uses different shooting mechanics than the other two titles.
What other changes were introduced in the latest Grand Theft Auto Trilogy update?
While many would say that the ability to drive and shoot could be the biggest update that the developers could introduce, Besk actually discovered more changes that were left unlisted. Except to fix GTA Trilogys game-breaking bugs, graphics and animations were improved. Some of these items include tweaking CJ's soda animation, adding various details to the map graphics, and the ability to pause during cutscenes in all three games, among others. A bug that allowed players to jump to other islands early on has also been fixed, ensuring that these areas are only accessible once certain progress has been achieved.
Besk also shared that Rockstar may have a new team to deal with bugs and issues. It is interesting to note that a visual change found by various members of the community is that some of the Grove Street Games logos are missing on some screens. Grove Street Games has been responsible for GTA Trilogy Definitive Edition since the announcement, so some players were surprised to hear this news. However, Besk clarifies that Grove Street Games were the ones who introduced the hundreds of fixes included in the latest patch, and that the team was never removed from the actual credits. Still, all the updates shared by Besk make it look like GTA Trilogy Definitive Edition may be closer to the modern experience players had hoped for when the game was released.
