This is huge and sets up one of the best upcoming battles in the series. Fans can't wait to see their favorite character make his big return and show why he is the strongest wizard.

Fans are waiting for the return of Gojo Satoru
Gojo Satoru has become an anime icon worldwide over the past few years, and it's pretty easy to see that he's a beloved character that fans love to see on screen. This is precisely why his absence hurts the fans so much more. In fact, in JJK Season 2, specifically during the Shibuya incident, Gojo Satoru was sealed away by Kenjaku via the Prison Realm.
Since then, all the other characters have been fending for themselves without Mankind's Strongest. But now, JJK Season 3 is coming, and this could probably be where Gojo breaks free.

At Anime Pasadena 2025, Gojo's English VA, Kaiji Tang, was asked about his most anticipated moment from the seriesand while trying to avoid spoilers, he definitely hinted that Gojo would return in JJK season 3. Kaiji Tang said that he's been waiting for years for this moment, and he could really only talk about Gojo's sealing.
“I can't say much without giving things away, but I'll just say this: I've been waiting for that moment for years.
When it finally happens, it will be huge—emotional, intense, and maybe even divisive. People will definitely feel things. That's all I can say for sure.

Season 3 will end with Gojo's Unsealing and set up the big battle to come
Jujutsu Kaisen Season 3 is the most anticipated season of the entire franchise so far. This season will kick-start the Culling Game arc, and based on everything seen so far, it will definitely also feature the unveiling of Satoru Gojo, something fans have been eagerly awaiting.
However, Gojo's sealing should not be expected by fans early in the season. This massive event will be towards the end, probably during the last episode of the season, which means it will happen in the second lane or JJK season 3.
Gojo's seal would be the best point to end the season on, and it would set up big things for the franchise. With Gojo unsealed, a big battle would then be on the cards, and fans know it will be the clash of the strongest. Gojo vs Sukuna would then be set for a perfect film adaptation. All fans have to do is wait.

Jujutsu Kaisen's sequel, called Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo, is featured in Weekly Shonen Jump Magazine. The series is set 68 years into the future, after the events of the Shinjuku Showdown. The main characters of Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo are Yuka and Tsurugi Okkotsu, grandchildren of Yuta and Maki. Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo Chapter 17 will be released on January 4, 2026. The chapter release time is midnight JST, or 11:00 AM ET (8:00 AM PT). Fans can read the chapter for free on Manga Plus and the Shonen Jump app.
