Lego has collaborated with almost all major IPs over the past 25 years. From Rings Lord to Sonic the Hedgehog, if it is big enough to have a LEGO set that will sell, it probably already has a LEGO set. But if Lego has a list of large IPs that it is still trying to get together, it can now cross Godzilla's name from it.
LEGO confirmed that it makes its first Godzilla set through a new blog post that describes which posts from Lego ideas have not only reached the support break to be officially considered, but has jumped a step beyond that and will be full-fledged Lego sets. The Godzilla set that has forced a team-up between Lego and The King of Monsters is one submitted by Matthew Esposito.

In order for a set of officially to be considered for mass production of Lego, submissions, which are shared through Lego ideas, must reach 10,000 supporters within a certain time frame. If that threshold is reached, the set goes to Lego for consideration. If the good people at Lego like what they see, that set, or a version of it, will become an official Lego set that people can buy and build.
Lego Godzilla is real
But he can't hurt you
As noted by Esposito on their Lego ideas Godzilla page, this is the second time they submitted the set after it did not receive enough support for the first time. No such problem this time, as the set met 10,000 supporters in October last year. This meant that it qualified for the first Lego Ideas review period 2025, and five months later LEGO has confirmed that it likes the set enough to turn it into the real thing.
The set that Lego transforms Esposito's Godzilla will not be just like the one you can see above, but it will look quite the same. The fucking creation is based on Godzilla's more modern look in movies such as Godzilla: King of the Monsters and Godzilla vs. Kong. It also has a light blue streak that you can attach to Lego Godzilla's mouth, which I hope is an accessory that Lego decides to hold when you do the real thing.
