Genshin Impact Teases Durin and Jahoda Gameplay for Version 6.2

Genshin Impact has revealed character trailers for both Durin and Jahoda, the two new characters that will make their in-game debut in version 6.2. It's safe to say that the cast of Nod-Krai is loved by Genshin Impact community, with new favorites like Columbina and Varka, but also Durin and Jahoda. Durin has been a highly anticipated character since version 4.8, and his story has been gradually built up since version 1.2.

On the other hand, Jahoda in Genshin Impact has been a pleasant surprise. There was no expectation that Jahoda would enter Nod-Krai, but thanks to Sonya Krueger's charming performance and amazing animation work by HoYoverse, Jahoda has gathered a large number of fans heading into version 6.2. While she won't be a 5-star character, Jahoda's ability kit will allow her to fill a curious niche – a dedicated healer for Lunar Reaction teams.

Genshin Impact releases Durin and Jahoda as playable characters in version 6.2

In anticipation of their playable debut on December 3, 2025, HoYoverse has released character trailers for Durin and Jahoda. Durin's trailer highlights his story – specifically his struggle to adapt to the human world and his identity as one of Rhinedottir's many creations. Durin is shown integrated into Mondstadt society: fishing with Klee, drinking with Dahlia and Kaeya, and receiving wisdom from Lisa. While this version of Durin in Genshin Impact is meant to be a second chance, his heart holds both his new and old self. Players who complete his Story Quest in version 6.2 will be able to unlock a unique skin for Durin that highlights the difference between his past and future.

In contrast, Jahoda's trailer is a bit more optimistic. As the only official member of the Curatorium of Secrets, Jahoda handles the minor tasks that Nefer doesn't have the time or patience for. Despite his cold demeanor, Nefer entered Genshin Impact is fond of his co-worker, as Jahoda does his best to appear competent and reliable. This dynamic is what initially endeared Jahoda Genshin Impact community, but she has since established a relationship with other characters, such as Ineffa.

Gameplay wise, Jahoda is a 4 star Anemo Bow and a decent side quality for both Nefer and Flins in Genshin Impact. Like most Anemo characters, players should prepare a set of Viridescent Venerer artifacts when building Jahoda, with priority on ATK% and Energy Recharge. In particular, version 6.2 will allow fans to get an Energy Recharge bow from its flagship event.

As befits his journey as a character, Durin can perform two distinct roles: as an on-field driver for Vaporize and Melt, or as an off-field support for Burning, Overload, Pyro Crystallize, and Pyro Swirl. While Jahoda was designed with Lunar Reaction in mind, Durin works best with Hexerei characters. As of version 6.2, the Hexerei consists of eight Genshin Impact characters: Durin, Mona, Venti, Klee, Albedo, Razor, Saccharos and Fischl. If two Hexerei characters are paired in a team, both will gain powerful battle buffs. This is Genshin Impacts attempt to give some of its oldest units a much-needed upgrade, but players must complete a set of quests in version 6.2 to unlock the Hexerei Rite for each character.

As for event banners, both Durin and Jahoda will be in the first half of version 6.2, along with Venti. After his Hexerei buffs, Venti has emerged as one of the best Anemo hypercarries in Genshin Impactand he even gets a new signature weapon to match. Players will be able to draw for The Daybreak Chronicles on the weapon banner Genshin Impact when version 6.2 launches on December 3, 2025.
