Genshin Impact officially reveals Linnea for version 6.5

Genshin Impact has officially revealed Linnea, a 5-star Geo Bow character who will make her playable debut in version 6.5, giving Lunar-Crystallize its dedicated healer. Version 6.5 brings the focus back to Lunar Reactions in Genshin Impactas the game will introduce its second fae character in Linnea. While players will only meet her in the upcoming update, Linnea has been teased throughout Nod-Krai via voice lines, character anecdotes, and one-liners.

From a gameplay standpoint, Linnea is meant to be the Lauma of Lunar-Crystallize: a premium support that raises Lunar Reaction for any compatible hypercarry. In Linnea's case, the ideal hypercarry may well be Zibai i Genshin Impactbut beta testing has shown Linnea's synergy with older Geo characters, such as Navia, making Augur of Wonders a valuable addition to one's account.

Genshin Impact: Linnea Profile Overview

  • Sex: Woman
  • Rarity: 5 star
  • Element: Geo
  • Arms: Arc
  • Constellation: Alcyon

Linnea's character was revealed by Genshin Impact over social media pending version 6.5. Described as an advisor to the Guild of Adventurers, Linnea is only the third playable character with direct ties to the organization, following Bennett and Fischl's introduction in version 1.0. As a 5-star Geo character from Nod-Krai, having Linnea on your team enables Lunar-Crystallize, one of three Lunar Reactions introduced in the new region. But Linnea also provides group healing, elemental shred, off-field Geo damage, as well as buffs to Elemental Mastery and Lunar-Crystallize damage. This makes her a well-rounded support character i Genshin Impact.

Much like Flins in Genshin ImpactLinnea is a Snowland Fae, a race of immortal beings created by the artisans of Hyperborea. Once led by the first Cryo Archon, today's fae have spread across Snezhnaya, but some of them have also found a home in Nod-Krai. While Flins keeps his identity a secret and has a polite, gentlemanly demeanor, Linnea is his polar opposite. She has a bright, chipper personality and the heart of an explorer.

Linnea in Genshin Impact will make her first appearance in version 6.5 via her Story Quest, but she is otherwise expected to be playable in the first half of the upcoming update. Unlike version 6.4, the new patch comes with a map expansion, allowing players to either stock up on Primogems for version 6.6 or spend them on Linnea's debut banner. Players will be able to see an official preview of the game during the next special program announcement, which is scheduled to go live on March 27, 2026.

According to the ongoing beta version, Event Banners for version 6.5 of Genshin Impact will include Linnea, Lauma, Chasca and Nefer. While no 4-stars have been confirmed so far, there is a strong possibility that Illuga will run alongside Linnea due to his niche role as a Lunar-Crystallize buffer. Additionally, version 6.5 will give players a free copy of Jahoda to participate in its flagship event. Community feedback for Linnea has so far been overwhelmingly positive, with most Genshin Impact players who think she is Geo's equivalent of Escoffier. Unlike Escoffier, Linnea has no specific team restrictions, but she naturally gravitates towards having at least one Geo and Hydro teammate.

For players not interested in playing with Lunar Reaction teams Genshin Impactor if they dislike Geo games in general, Linnea is an easy character to skip. Leaks strongly suggest that version 6.6 will release Lohen and Nicole, both Hexerei characters, with the latter expected to be Varka's best support. As such, there is a strong possibility that Linnea will be the last Lunar Reaction character in Nod-Krai's patch cycle, with Genshin Impact paving the way for Snezhnaya. Version 6.5 will be released on April 8, 2026.
