Jujutsu Kaisen is one of the most popular new generation shonen manga worldwide, even nearly two years after its end. This story, written by Gege Akutami, finally reached its conclusion with the Shinjuku Showdown arc, which saw some of the biggest battles in the story unfold. When the King of Curses, Ryomen Sukuna, rose to full power, the likes of Gojo Satoru went against him, up against him, and then the battle was eventually ended by none other than Yuji Itadori, the protagonist of the series. Jujutsu Kaisen's The ending was really decent but it left a lot to be desired. By the end of the series, it was pretty clear that the author was dealing with a lot of health-related issues, which kind of made this ending feel rushed.
Now, eight years after the beginning of this incredible franchise, Jujutsu Kaisen has finally begun to show its true ending, and the author has shown this in the new JJK Modulo manga serieswhich is a sequel to the original story. It's safe to say that this ending fixes itself JJK forever.
Jujutsu Kaisen's end saw the defeat of Sukuna
The original ending of Jujutsu Kaisen was somewhat satisfying to the fans. Towards the end of the Jujutsu Kaisen series, Ryomen Sukuna had taken control of Megumi's body. Meanwhile, Gojo Satoru was released from the prison realm. Their fight officially began in the final arc of the series and was quite easily the biggest fight in the entire series. This fight was fairly even, but it ended with the victory of Ryomen Sukuna, who had a better overall command of Jujutsu. Sukuna killed Gojo and was then immediately led into a raid, which saw all the wizards around him attack him one by one. In the end it was Yuji Itadori who took him down by raising his overall Jujutsu greatly and finishing him off once and for all.
Yuji Itadori's victory did not come easily. It took him quite a bit of time and help from his wizards to be able to put down Sukuna for good, but in the end Yuji prevailed and Ryomen Sukuna was beaten for good. With Sukuna's death, Yuji Itadori and his fellow students decided to carry on the legacy of Gojo Satoru and influence the world of Jujutsu in a better way. The jujutsu community continued to flourish towards the end and Sukuna was out for good.
Let's end the cycle of curses forever, Sukuna! — Yuji Itadori
Even so, many problems arose with the conclusion of Jujutsu Kaisen. First, the idea of amalgamation never really came up in history again. Most importantly, cursed spirits still existed in the world. At one point, the problem of cursed spirits was one of the main plot points of the series. Some of the main characters in JJK wanted to find a way to get rid of them. Unfortunately, this issue was never fixed in the original series. Instead, Gege Akutami has now officially fixed it 68 years later in history, and fans are finally happy.

Jujutsu Kaisen's new ending will end cursed spirits forever
Jujutsu Kaisen: Modulo is currently nearing its end, and as the story begins to wrap up, it's clear that Gege Akutami intends to finally tackle the plot of dealing with cursed spirits once and for all. Cursed spirits are mainly created in Japan due to the leakage of cursed energy from the non-wizards. Everyone in Japan has access to cursed energy, but not everyone is a wizard. As a result, their cursed energy seeps out and this pooling of negative energy is what leads to the creation of cursed spirits. There are only two ways to permanently get rid of cursed spirits i Jujutsu Kaisen:
-
The first way is to completely erase cursed energy from everyone, and as a result, no cursed energy leakage would occur.
-
The other way is to make everyone in Japan wizards and then they can learn to completely control their cursed energy. Again, a leak would be very limited, meaning no cursed spirits would be born.
Gege Akutami quietly drops a major update on the future of Jujutsu Kaisen
JJK's future looks bright, based on a new comment from creator Gege Akutami.
One of the main characters in the original Jujutsu Kaisen series, Yuki Tsukumo wanted society to break away from cursed energy for good after witnessing the miracle that was Toji Fushiguro, who was born without any cursed energy. At the same time, Kenjaku wanted everyone to be wizards and learn how to optimize cursed energy in their own way. Unfortunately, this plot point never led anywhere in the original series. But now JJK: Modulo taking it back again.
It is a grave sin. However, I will still do it. — Yuji Itadori

In the climax of the series, it is quite clear to see that Maru is now trying to end cursed spirits forever so that the problems between humans and Simurians will not exist anymore. Maru's technique is the key to ending the cursed energy for good. With the power of chaos and harmony, Maru was able to access the realm between life and death and gain access to Mahito's technology. Meanwhile, Maru also has the purest Mul that he got from Naunax, which is a source of a very pure form of cursed energy. Likewise, he also has access to Yuta Okkotsu's ring, which has a huge amount of cursed energy stored inside.
-
Using Mul and the Cursed Energy Ring as a base, Maru used Idle Transfiguration all over Japan and then changed the souls of everyone in existence. By doing this, Maru was able to easily remove the vast majority of the cursed energy from their bodies, making everyone free from this power to the greatest extent possible. As Yuji Itadori pointed out, cursed energy cannot be completely erased. However, it can be greatly reduced to the point where only a handful of Cursed Spirits would be born from all the leakage worldwide in a year. As such, cursed spirits would mostly cease to exist in the future, as no one with normal cursed energy will exist in Japanese society anymore, and this includes both Simurians, who came to Earth, as well as humans, who have inhabited Japan for a very long time. Maru has also left all the old wizards from both sides untouched, because otherwise their whole lives would be turned upside down.
Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo will change wizard history forever
Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo has officially started the process of removing cursed energy from all people in Japan. In addition to that, the color of the souls of the Cursed Spirits has also been changed, so Simurians will not confuse Cursed Spirits with Kalyans anymore. Over the course of the next two chapters, this process will officially be completed and the biggest complaint fans had with the original series will finally be fixed.
With that, a brand new Jujutsu Society will be formedand no people with normal cursed energy will be born, which means that the presence of cursed spirits will decrease significantly. Meanwhile, both Simurians and humans will be happy with this decision as they can finally coexist. All the trouble between the two races will end, and Tokyo will be freed from cursed spirits again after many years. The Sumerians will live all over Japan, side by side with the humans, and that would be a perfect ending to this brilliant story.
