Playing as the hero is so ubiquitous in video games that it is quite rare that players do not feel like any kind of God among the seemingly unintelligent and unqualified NPCs. Players often encounter situations early in a game where they are considered a “selected a” type of figure that will save the world from any evil power or wrong.
There are times where the protagonist is just a spectator, who witnesses the major events that take place around them and has little or no concrete impact on procedures. In such games, it really doesn't matter what players do, because things will happen and their actions come largely unnoticed by the world around them.

Kenshi

Often punishes and never boring, Kenshi is an open world sand box game that rewards the most adaptive players. Starting with nothing, there are no main characters and no special goals than those set by the player, but the main purpose is to only survive as long as possible in the hard and hostile world.
While the player character can have some impact and influence on the gaming world, it continues in the end and adapts based on NPC's actions, especially those of influence, as fraction leaders. Some find Kenshi Inaccessible, but those who continue to like to be another small part of this complicated and brutal world.
Star sorcean
Space box with sophisticated economic and political structures
An indie -rpg that is still often updated for a decade after launch, Star sorcean Simulates a procedurally generated universe with intricate political and economic systems. From a fleet of vessels, players must get into this large and complex universe, shop, fight and form alliances.
It is possible to influence certain fractions during war, either by joining them and helping with battles or offering favorable trade agreements, but many of the roads can occur without player efforts. Power and territory can switch without intervention, and the economy is ever developed with different prices and tariffs depending on location, or even direct ban on certain articles.
The story of Martin Septim
Apparently the quatch hero is quite important during the events in The Elder Scrolls 4: OblivionBut it is Martin Septim who serves all plaudites and is written in the annals of history. The player can only really be known by completing side searches and guild assignments, but many NPCs will still look down on them.
When the emperor chooses the player to save the world and fulfill a prophecy, it seems something random, although it may not be a coincidence. But Martin is the hero when it means something. Something similar can be said of their predecessor, TomorrowThere, the character is just one of many potential applicants in the Nerine title.
Stalker: Clear Sky
Fight or form alliances in the zone
As a prequel, Stalker: Clear Sky May feel somewhat predetermined because players from their predecessor already have an idea of where the story will lead. Control of a mercenar named Scar there are several fractions that can help or fight in the zone around Chernobyl, but this warfare has little impact on the events of history.
It is worth noting that these choices can make certain assignments simpler or more difficult depending on who scars are in line with. A tough opportunity for newcomers, the series is known for their Hardcore fight and players should expect to die repeatedly as they learn the game's mechanics.
Mount & Blade: Warband
A changing medieval world
A medieval sandbox with a dynamically changing world, Mount & Blade: Warband is a standalone enlargement of the original RPG. From nothing, the game makes complete freedom to go out into Calradia and do just about anything, as long as roaming marauders and armies can be avoided or defeated.
There are no set goals and few limits on what is possible. Earning more famous opens more alternatives and opportunities to take work from important people, but the world will change without any influence outside. Fraction leaders have their desires and behaviors, which may be different in each Playthrough.
This war of me
Only survive in the pogor
This war of me is a truly upcoming and memorable experience that simulates the lives of civilians who try to survive in a besieged city. It is impossible to have any impact on the potential ceasefire, so it is up to the playable characters to try to stay alive until such an event occurs, usually after about 35 days or so.
While they are out cleansing, survivors can meet other people, who are either something friendly or completely hostile, and it is quite clear to see that the playable characters are not special. Death can crawl up at any time, so it is crucial to prioritize important deliveries and not take any unnecessary risks.
Kingdom Come: Deliverance
Regular blacksmith became soldier
Henry of Skalitz is a trainee in Kingdom Come: Deliverance And has no form of “selected a” bow as in many other RPGs. By engaging in some excellent side assignments and a branching main campaign, Henry is only a small part of the resistance to the invading Hungarian forces in the Kingdom of Böhmen.
Throughout history, Henry's actions can increase his reputation and stand with NPCs, but he generally remains slightly under the radar. The general history is mostly his journey with growth and the people around him in the middle of a very difficult time.
Banners saga
Decisions will not affect the world, but they will affect caravans
Inspired by northern mythology, Banners saga Puts players in control of two separate caravans of people trying to survive in a world where the war -like mud tries to kill all people. Gameplay is divided between role -playing segments where choices must be made, and the caravans must be handled, plus XCOM-The style struggle where the consequences of defeat can be difficult.
The survivors in the caravans can have very little impact on the wider world, instead with a focus on their survival in the gloomy countries. Although each character may seem very important to players and each other, in the big thing, they are complete Nobodies.
