If you've logged into Fortnite at any point in the last 48 hours or so, there's a good chance you've seen a bulk version of Ed from Ed, Edd n Eddy running around. That, or Michael Scott and Dwight Schrute from The Office, as those are the latest collaborations in the never-ending live-service Battle Royale.
But as cool as it is to see Dwight and his mustard yellow shirt team up with Goku and Butters, it's actually Ed who makes the most waves, especially when it comes to memes.
For example, here's Ed hitting 6-7:
For what it's worth, 6–7 is exactly the kind of thing Eddy would hit if the show still existed.
Things don't stop there either, as the “Bet Your Sweet Bippy” meme might be the one everyone has the most fun recreating.
Then there's one social media user who took the distance, taking the gameplay of Ed in Fortnite and combining it with the often weird sound effects from the TV show.
Somehow they don't feel out of place in Fortnite.
If that wasn't enough hilarity, it dawned on someone that the powers of top animation Nickelodeon and Cartoon Network could now be combined. Specifically, pairing Ed with SpongeBob SquarePants' sidekick, a duo that kids in the early 2000s would never have imagined possible.
If there was a downside, it's the fact that Ed is the only representative from his show in the game. Still, fans have found some hope that this won't be the end of the Ed, Edd n Eddy collaboration.
It's not an Ed, Edd n Eddy Collaborate but Eddy himself
As first shared on Twitter, the Ed outfit is believed to be “part of the Ed, Edd n Eddy set” in the game. It has given hardcore fans some hope of seeing Eddy or Double D sometime in the future.
Ed as the first character makes a lot of sense, as he is the most memorable of the trio. But if neither Edd nor Eddy were planned, it felt like they should have been part of the first batch. Instead, Ed is a solo artist with Plank backbling and a Jawbreaker pickaxe.
Ultimately, only time will tell if the other Eds make it into the game. If not, maybe as sidekicks? Anyway, long live the meme.
