Epic Games has issued an official statement regarding a recent discovery Fortnite account believed to belong to sex offender, rapist and trafficker Jeffrey Epstein. The latest batch of Epstein files revealed a supposed purchase of V-Bucks, leading some internet personalities and users to believe that “littlestjeff1” was an account belonging to Epstein. Said Fortnite the account has activity as late as 2025, years after Epstein's death while in federal custody.
Of course, the focus of the Epstein files should be justice for victims and accountability for any co-conspirators, accomplices or otherwise unwitting persons. That hasn't stopped any discussion online about everything Epstein was involved in beyond his convicted crimes. The Epstein files have had several references to the gaming industry, including a permanent ban from Xbox Live. While many initially believed this was due to “harassment, threats and/or abuse,” as the email states, there are reports that it was due to an agreement between Microsoft and the New York Attorney General to ban all registered sex offenders from Xbox Live.
When the latest files were released, readers not only discovered that Epstein had bought V-bucks before, but also believed that his username in Fortnite was “little girl1.” Said profile had reached the Silver 1 ranking in Chapter 5 Season 1, which lasted from December 2023 to March 2024, and played a total of 75 matches in 2025. This led to pseudo-serious conversations about whether Jeffrey Epstein was still alive or not, to some extent to lighten his serious crime. Others thought it could have been some kind of hoax, which has now been confirmed by Epic Games.
Confirming that this was a “ruse by a Fortnite player,” the service update channel responded to a post about the account. It revealed that a player “a few days ago” — likely when it was discovered in the Epstein files — changed his username from “something completely unrelated” to “littlestjeff1.” It also explained that the trackers used to determine that this account was still active only show current display names, not previous changes. It then went on to reveal that there are no records of Epstein's email addresses as they relate to the public records in the Epic account system.
Finally, it noted that several Fortnite accounts have been created in recent days with similar email addresses and usernames. It is unclear if Epic Games will take action to penalize and/or remove these accounts.
