Fortnite is reportedly ready for one Monitoring crossover, according to a new report from a well-known leaker. The alleged team-up would add another marquee franchise to Epic's ever-growing list of collaborations, but also mark one of Fortnites most unexpected crossovers yet.
The new information comes from Fortnite leaker ShiinaBR, who has a long track record of verified scoops related to Epic's hit Battle Royale game. Taking to Twitter on January 23, the insider shared one of his most bombastic claims yet.
Fortnite reveals Office Skins and Emotes, including Michael Scott, Dwight Schrute, The Scarn and more
Fortnite's The Office crossover reveals skins for Michael Scott and Dwight Schrute, emotes like The Scarn dance, and some fun accessories.
The Fortnite x Overwatch Crossover has reportedly launched in early Spring 2026
ShiinaBR wrote in upper and lower case letters that a Fortnite crossover with Monitoring launching in the next three months, i.e. before the end of April 2026. Although the leaker did not provide any further details, the very concept of a crossover implies the usual batch of theme skins, emotes and other cosmetics. Some Fortnite collaborations debut alongside larger events, while others launch in a vacuum. Although it is currently unclear what approach this is rumored to take Monitoring crossover will take, the high-profile nature of the partnership makes a full launch event more likely than a limited cosmetic drop.
What makes a Fortnite x Overwatch Crossover so unexpected?
Fortnite cross-promotes all the time, partnering with movies, TV shows and real people, including musicians, athletes, actors and content creators. It also doesn't shy away from video game franchises, which are among the most common topics for its collaborations. However, it leaked Monitoring crossover appears somewhat unusual due to its rival-coded nature. Although the two games do not occupy the same genre, Monitoring is neither part of a dormant franchise nor a single-player title; it's an active live-service shooter with overlapping audiences and similar monetization strategies, including a battle pass system and a cosmetics-driven business model.
Crossovers between active live service games are inherently more complex, as they involve more than just intellectual property licensing. Such collaborations effectively mean that one title boosts another with which it competes for user engagement and discretionary spending. Monitoring and Fortnite also share a long-standing cultural rivalry, often reflected in online debates comparing the two.

On top of all that, while Fortnite has trained its audience to expect crossovers with basically anything these days, Blizzard has historically been more conservative when it comes to deciding on branded cosmetics and other types of collaborations for Monitoring. As a result, even when it does cross-promote, they're usually with outside entertainment providers, something completely out of left field — like 2024 Overwatch 2 Porsche crossover – or games that don't feel like direct rivals in the live service sphere. A potential Overwatch 2 the collaboration would thus mark a significant milestone for Fortnitefurther cementing its status as a metaverse hub of sorts among video games.
Given that both Monitoring and Fortnite are active live-service games, perhaps this rumored collaboration isn't a one-way street. Typically, Epic Games simply pays licensing fees to acquire new content for Fortnite. However, in this case, Blizzard may be more focused on increasing player engagement with their own game and could possibly have negotiated a true cross-promotion, with cosmetics potentially appearing in both Monitoring and Fortnite. Assuming the new leak is accurate, some official information about this crossover will likely materialize in the coming weeks.
