With many Marvel crossovers to its name, it's no surprise that a large majority of the brand's biggest characters are within Fortnite at this time. And now it looks like one of the few heavy hitters not yet in the game – Ultron – will be flying his way to Fortnites island
As the main villain in one of them Avengers movies, it's pretty shocking that it's taken this long for the wacky AI to catch up to Epic Games' crossover-filled battle royale. Thanos and Loki, the other Avengers movie villains, after all, exist. Created by (and eventually fused with) Hank Pym in the comics, Ultron's goal is to wipe out humanity, deeming them harmful to the planet and feeling that intelligent machine life is the natural progression of things. A true threat not just because of his brilliance, but because of his ability to back himself up via the internet and create an endless army of machine clones, Ultron is an Avengers-level threat that regularly resurfaces and may never be fully eradicated.
Ultron's creator was changed to Tony Stark within the MCU, as Hank Pym had not yet appeared in the films at that point.
Fortnite is adding special April Fools' Day content, but there's a big catch
Epic Games' hit battle royale title will be out for April Fools Day this year, but Fortnite fans won't have long to appreciate all the gags.
Ultron's Fortnite debut seems set in stone…
When it comes to Fortnite leaks, the two most reputable sources tend to be HYPEX and ShiinaBR. And sure enough, the latter is the source of this promising Ultron info, as they confirm a report from @SamLeakss about Ultron's impending arrival. An exact release date for Ultron isn't being shared, meaning he could hit the merch anytime in Chapter 7 Season 2 or later. However, Ultron's addition seems likely given that there is an upcoming MCU project: VisionQuest.

Released on Disney+ sometime in 2026, VisionQuest will build off the lingering plot threads from WandaVision and Agatha All Along to focus on White Vision's journey to regain his memories. James Spader is confirmed to return as Ultron in this show, perhaps through flashbacks or a hidden copy of his consciousness that The Avengers let slip by. Regardless of how it happens, Ultron being back is a big moment that will likely be hinted at via VisionQuests trailer. And, given Disney and Epic Games' relationship, it's not out of the question that the companies have planned an Ultron skin drop to happen alongside the trailer's (currently unknown) release.
…But Ultron's Fortnite design is a mystery
But while Ultron's Fortnite The debut seems almost set in stone thanks to this leak and a looming MCU return that is sure to boost the character's popularity, what's less certain is the villain's design. His Age of Ultron skin (both the default variant and the upgrade he gets before the final fight) would work well enough and be recognizable, sure, but he's had tons of other skins that could make for some good styles if not used as a default skin. Potential Ultron skin styles include:
-
Infinity Ultron (What if…?)
- Holocaust Ultron
- Age of Ultron (golden series version)
-
Allfather Ultron
- Heroes Reborn Ultron
For now, though, an Ultron Fortnite hud seems really likely, fans shouldn't get their hopes up. Any leak can turn out to be wrong, as plans can change or sources can feed a leaker bad information. Still, there's no denying that Ultron would be a very cool skin, especially since he could serve as a seasonal big bad like Doctor Doom did months ago.
