Back in 2019, when My Hero Academia still took off and Demon Slayer had just begun, the Firepower anime came about through the power of Atsushi Okubo's imagination. This slick shonen anime dared to imagine a combat system that only fires in a sleek future setting, and then fans were only worried about the wrath of the Infernal on the city streets. Flash forward seven years and Shinra Kusakabe's fiery adventure is finally coming to an end. The ultimate endgame for Company 8 has arrived, but not in the way fans expected.
It is routine for shonen action anime to challenge the heroes to defeat the forces of evil in order to save lives and protect the entire world. The heroes aim to protect the status quo and prevent the villains from creating a terrible new world order, but Firepower pushing the boundaries of that paradigm. For once, the villains managed to destroy the world, with the Great Catastrophe burning away the Earth that the Tokyo Empire called home. All is not lost, however, as the power of family love and hope led to the creation of a whole new world, one that has rolled out the red carpet for the familiar Soul Eater. It's time to bridge the gap between these two anime and do what perhaps no other shonen title has ever accomplished.
Fire Force: The 7 Best-Written Villains in the Franchise, Ranked
Fire Force is carried by its amazing villains. These managed to stand out the most.
One world ends, another begins as Fire Force concludes its story
Few shonen anime would even think of doing what Firepower did in his last episode, which helps keep Firepower competitive with stronger titles such as Jujutsu Kaisen and The Suitor: Beyond Journey's End at certain levels. Speaking of which The Suitor Anime is about what happens after the battles are over and the heroes have won, embracing a peaceful realm where there is no pressure to do anything special. Sure, most action anime do at least a little bit of that at the end, because it's great to see heroes like Naruto Uzumaki and pro hero Deku enjoying the peace. But Firepower do it with bold creativity, making the whole world feel like the heroes' oyster.
Based on what happened in the last episode, “Answer,” the simple, familiar forces of peace and love will dominate the story, with still room for surprises or even disruptions along the way. All established conflicts in Firepower is now over, what with the Great Catastrophe being replaced with the birth of a new world, and the Fire Soldiers making peace with their former cult enemies. Even the Haumea/Evangelist fusion has no more hostility to offer, and the Kusakabe family has found closure as the brothers are reunited and they make peace with their mother's status as a hellion.
6 Anime Series Better Than Fire Force
Fire Force is a great anime, but there are series out there that are better.
Probably last episode of Firepower“Hero's Tale,” will close the book on a number of personal plot threads, from Tamaki Kotatsu's confident use of her eroticism to Leonard Burns being a horned hero and many other actors returning from the dead. The eight pillars no longer serve a purpose, and no one fears the Infernals anymore, so the stage is set for this colorful young earth to pass the baton to Soul Eater world. The eerie moon was already a strong sign of that Firepowers world would eventually succumb to Soul Eaterits own, and now the process can be completed.
The actors in Soul Eater may or may not appear in Firepowers final episode, though their ancestors might, and that alone would make for a delightful fusion of two anime that the industry almost never sees. That's one thing for Naruto Shippuden to give way to Boruto or for My Hero Academia to rewind the tape to explore the adventures of Koichi Haimawari in the My Hero Academia: Vigilantesbut it promised Firepower/Soul Eater mixing can be even more innovative than that. And even if the upcoming anime world is only hinted at as Firepower ends, the concept remains sound and fans can't wait to see it happen.
