On November 14, Final Fantasy 14 launched a new mount and two hairstyles that players can get, although it requires spending real money. Final Fantasy 14 players who want to get all three of these new cosmetic items for their collections will need to spend a total of $34 in the online store.
The addition of the online store came just three days later Final Fantasy 14 released Patch 7.38 on its servers. Update 7.38 was focused on fixing some known issues with Pilgrim's Traverse's deep dungeon that could hinder player progress. Patch 7.38 also removed all restrictions on loot that players can get from AAC Cruiserweight Tier (Savage) raid instances, which should make upgrading a smoother process. Plus a poster with key art from Final Fantasy Tactics: The Ivalice Chronicles can now be dropped from treasure chests in the Return To Ivalice alliance raid series, which requires access to Stormblood expansion to get.
Final Fantasy 14 players can purchase a new mount and two hairstyles
Now, Final Fantasy 14 players have three more items to get for their collections, though each one requires spending some hard-earned cash. Final Fantasy 14s newest hairstyles, 'Modern Aesthetics — Hairstyle M' and 'Modern Aesthetics — Hairstyle F', can be purchased for $5 each in the online store. Each hairstyle is inspired by the ones superboss Omega used in various instances, including The Omega Protocol (Ultimate) raid. Despite their titles, the Omega M and F hairstyles can be used by all player characters, regardless of race or gender. The new hairstyles can be bought as gifts like Final Fantasy 14 players can send to their friends, but they can only be used by one character per purchase. Separate, gender-locked gears based on Omega-M and Omega-F were added Final Fantasy 14's Online Store in late 2023 and can be purchased for $12 each.
Along with Omega-themed hairstyles, Final Fantasy 14 mount collectors can also purchase the Hovering Hot Pot mount. This magical floating mount can only be driven by one player and comes with a price tag of $24. While not giftable to other players, the Hovering Hot Pot mount is an account-wide purchase. Thus, Final Fantasy 14 players only need to purchase it once for it to be distributed to all current and future characters on the same account.
The combined price of all three cosmetics is $34, before taxes and fees. With more new content planned for the remaining ones Dawnrail patches, it remains to be seen what surprises Final Fantasy 14 still have in readiness for players.
