Final Fantasy 14 Host for Free Login Promotion

Final Fantasy 14 players who haven't played the critically acclaimed MMORPG in a while now have a window to do so, as Square Enix launched a free sign-in campaign for players to enjoy. The Final Fantasy 14 free login promotion is a limited-time offer that gives inactive players a few days of playtime, allowing them to experience the game's latest content.

The return of the free login campaign came as Final Fantasy 14 had to endure a difficult feeling. Since autumn 2025, Final Fantasy 14 has periodically experienced distributed denial-of-service (DDoS) attacks on the game's North American data center. The attacks intensified after the release of Arcadion's final Savage raid level on January 6, which FF14 players reported over a dozen DDoS attacks and disconnections. The server problems were negatively affected FF14 player performance in the new Savage raid instances, with certain attacks costing raid teams a chance at victory in certain boss battles. By January 8, the attacks on Final Fantasy 14s servers had largely shut down after a few raid teams cleared Arcadion's Heavyweight Savage raids.

Discontinued Final Fantasy 14 players can return to Eorzea for free

As Final Fantasy 14 is preparing to launch its first 2026 content updates, players who haven't subscribed to the game for at least a month have a chance to return at no extra cost. Final Fantasy 14s free login promotion allows players with expired subscriptions to come back during a 96-hour window, allowing them to experience Patch 7.4's main story and Arcadion raid updates while their free play time lasts. However, this offer is only for Final Fantasy 14 players without an active subscription, and the 96-hour free play timer starts as soon as players log into the game via the launcher. Players have until 9:59 AM Eastern on Monday, February 9th to claim their free playtime. When it expires, Final Fantasy 14 players can resume their adventures by renewing their game subscription through Mog Station, with plans starting at $12.99 per month.

The return of Final Fantasy 14s free login promotion coincided with an ongoing event, as the annual Heavensturn festivities now run until January 15th. Like the actual Lunar New Year, this year's Heavensturn event is based on the Year of the Horse. Final Fantasy 14 players from level 15 and up can earn an Uma-no-Unicolt minion by talking to the Uma Bugyo NPC in Limsa Lominsa's upper deck and accepting the quest “Seize The Neigh” while Heavensturn is active. Considering that holiday assignments are a time-limited affair, Final Fantasy 14 players can complete them within 15 to 30 minutes on average.
