Swords are possibly the most ubiquitous aspect of fighters worldwide One Piece franchise. Whether it's a legendary pirate, a notable marine, or even one of the 5 elders of the world government, it's plain to see that swordsmen can exist anywhere from the lowest levels to the highest levels of power in the environment.
As such, it is the dream of one of One Piece's most loved characters, Roronoa Zoro, to become the strongest swordsman in the world, and to help him get there, he has Enma; a legendary Great Grade Blade. But there are some notable weapons that are even stronger than this sword, so let's go over what they are.
One Piece: 5 Characters Who Can Beat Loki, Ranked
Even the mighty Loki doesn't stand a chance against these One Piece characters.
Shusui is the only good quality black blade
Users: Shimotsuki Ryuma, Roronoa Zoro
Unlike most other strongest weapons in the entire world, Shusui is not a top class. It is not far off though, as it is one of the legendary 21 Great Grade Blades that once belonged to Shimotsuki Ryuma, who is said to be the single most powerful swordsman in history and is believed to be on the same level of strength as Joyboy himself.
The real reason Shusui is stronger than Enma, despite being on the same level as it, is because it's a Black Blade; one of only two known in the world. A Black Blade is basically one that is permanently imbued with Haki without the user having to do it manually, making it much heavier than a regular sword and also incredibly destructive. A sword will only turn into a black blade after years of prolonged infusion with Haki and dedication to swordsmanship, which is why it is so rare to see.
Yakuza Kasen is the latest high-class blade to be revealed
User: Admiral Fujitora

An incredible short sword.
Although it was seen in action significantly during the Dressrosa and Reverie arcs, the truth about the Yakuza Kasen was only revealed in SBS 109, where Oda officially confirmed that it was one of the 12 highest swords in One Piece. This alone places it at a level far above all other weapons not of its class, including the Enma.
Of course, Fujitora is not strictly a swordsman like the other practitioners of the Supreme Grade Blades, but his mastery of the weapon can be seen in how he uses it in conjunction with the gravity-defying powers of his Devil Fruit.
One Piece: 32 Strongest Swordsmen, Ranked
Given its fierce setting, it's little surprise that talented swordsmen populate One Piece. Here are the strongest of the lot.
Murakumogiri is a giant blade with incredible strength
User: Edward 'Whitebeard' Newgate
Although the Murakumogiri is one of the 12 highest swords, it can actually be classified as a Naginata. However, in terms of pure, unadulterated physical strength, the Murakumogiri is likely the strongest weapon in all One Piece. Not only is its craftsmanship and quality second to none, its titanic size means it can only be used by those at the physical peak, like Whitebeard himself.
The best display of its powers came when Whitebeard battled Roger, with both their weapons creating island-wide waves of Conqueror's Haki. In addition to this, Whitebeard was even able to give Murakumogiri his Devil Fruit powers to create powerful shockwaves, which may speak of a hidden characteristic of these incredible weapons.
Ace was the Pirate King's sword
User: Gol D. Roger
-
Sword of the Pirate King.
Ace was Gol D. Roger's sword and also one of the 12 highest swords. Due to the clashes Roger and Whitebeard had over the years, especially the only one shown, it is implied that Ace was on a similar strength to Murakumogiri, although this remains speculation.
Another speculative idea behind the Ace is that some fans believe it may have been a Black Blade due to its distinctive black sheen in the same duel, although this is also unconfirmed. What is known, however, is the fact that Roger had no Devil Fruit, meaning he had to rely on his Haki mastery with Ace to make a name for himself, showing that it is not only incredibly strong, but equally important.
One Piece: The Truth About Harald's Death, Explained
Oda has finally revealed the truth about Harald's death.
Shodai Kitetsu is the largest of the Kitetsu line
User: St. Ethan Baron V. Nusjuro
Over the entire setting of One PieceThe Kitetsu line of swords are known to be some of the most powerful weapons in the world, but are also notorious for being cursed to meet a terrible end for their owners. The greatest of these is the Supreme Grade Blade, Shodai Kitetsu, which is strongly implied to be used by the Elder, Nusjuro.
Each of the Kitetsu blades are categorized as Meito, so what is called the greatest of them all must be incredibly powerful. This was shown to be the case during the Egghead arc, where Nusjuro effortlessly cut down several Pacifistas and even the massive Labophase building with a single swing of his sword.
Yoru is likely the strongest weapon in the series
User: Dracule Mihawk
-
The only Supreme Grade Black Blade.
As previously mentioned, a Black Blade is formed when a sword is imbued with a lot of Haki over the course of many years of dedicated swordsmanship, making it incredibly powerful even without having to put Haki into it. Yoru is not only a Supreme Grade Sword, but it is also one of the only two Black Blades in the series in addition to that.
Due to Mihawk devoting his life to mastering the art of swordsmanship, he was able to make his weapon of choice a top class black blade, setting it apart even in such legendary company. When he eventually makes his long-awaited full battle debut, Mihawk will show exactly why he is considered the strongest swordsman in the world.
