Even more Drake Quest Remakes are reportedly found in the works, according to a recently shared clue by the creator of the series, Yuji Horii. While none of them are expected to meet the market before Dragon Quest 7 ReimaginedIt is not to say that they will not be focused on the previous records before DQ7.
Square Enix announced remake of Dragon Quest 7 during the last Nintendo Direct, which took place on September 12. The modernized version of Dragon Quest 7: Fragment of the forgotten past is scheduled to be released on February 5, 2026.
Yuji Horii suggests dragon quest 4–6 remakes to be in the works
Speak during September 15, the episode of “Yuubou and Mashirito No Kosokoso Housoukyoku” Monthly Livestream, Drake Quest Series -creator Yuji Horii suggested that even more remakes were in the pipeline. Around the ground 44:45, co-host (and the manga industry veteran) Kazuhiko “Mashirito” Torishima asked Horii why Square Enix decided to do rework Dragon Quest 7 Instead of the three entries that immediately preceded it, none has been modernized in the latest history. Horii responded by saying: “Many things move around, but it was only done first by chance,” which was first reported by the RPG website.
Horii's comment does not necessarily confirm that every single title from the other Drake Quest The trilogy is in line with a new recording. But it seems to imply at least some is, and the square Enix potentially weighs even more projects further down the line. One reason why Dragon Quest 7 May have hoped that gender is practical: Dragon Quest 4The 5and 6 Shape a loosely connected Zenithian trilogy, named after the fictional sky's castle in Zenithia, which appears in each of them. As such, modernization of them may require more coordinated work than an independent post. Assuming that no major history changes are planned, reworking a single member of the Zenitic trilogy, but the other two may not make sense from a narrative perspective.
Square Enix said that the modernized version of Dragon Quest 7 would tighten the stimulation by removing the side content with little or no direct relevance to the main plot, while adding new scenarios. Remake is also promised to introduce broader visual updates, as well as system refinements that are not yet detailed.

As a reminder, Dragon Quest 1 and 2 HD-2D remake Is currently in the works and is scheduled to be launched for PC and consoles on October 30. Dragon Quest 3 HD-2D Remake Released in mid -November 2024 and debuted to rave reviews and sell over 2 million copies in just over 20 days. While next main line installment, Dragon Quest 12are still waiting for a status update. It was originally announced in 2021, but Square Enix has shared some new information about it since then, except that sporadically confirm the unrealistic engine 5-driven project was still under development.
