Symmetry is free on the Epic Games Store
Until April 1st, Epic Games Store users can claim Symmetry completely free of charge. Originally released in February 2018, Symmetry sees players take control of a spaceship crew that has just survived a crash landing on an abandoned planet. In classic survival management fashion, players must ensure that each member of the crew has enough to eat and rest well enough to carry out vital ship repairs, all while the planet's extreme weather conditions and an array of supernatural creatures threaten to end their voyage early. Along the way, players will make various moral choices that will determine the future of their makeshift colony.

Symmetry met with somewhat disappointing critical reception when it launched in 2018. On OpenCritic, Symmetry has a Top Critic Average of 63, with a critic recommendation of just 13%. While many critics praised Symmetrys art style and intriguing story, many took issue with its core gameplay, citing its control scheme, lack of content, and excessive difficulty as major drawbacks.

As of March 27, there are four free games currently available on the Epic Games Store, including Symmetry. Wave Gods: Ammo Night is a first-person zombie horde shooter developed by Vault Games. This 6-player co-op shooter is free on the Epic Games Store until March 29. Then there is Haven dock and Hyper Echelonthe two free Epic Games Store games each week that are both available until April 2nd.
Released in April 2025, Haven dock is a cozy colony sim that sees players create a small settlement on the sea. Players will collect building materials from floating debris, build a variety of unique facilities, grow food, raise animals, welcome new settlers and eventually find themselves in charge of a lively little floating city. Hyper Echelonon the other hand, is a retro Sci-Fi shoot-em-up launched in November 2021. With a group of wingmen by their side, players will fight their way through 10 distinct worlds and blast away at a host of alien enemies as they gradually upgrade their ship with powerful new components.
On April 2, Haven dock and Hyper Echelon will be replaced with a new free Epic Games Store game. Next week's free EGS games will be Clone drones in the danger zoneanother 2021 title with a Sci-Fi flavor. However, unlike Hyper Echelon, Clone drones in the danger zone is a voxel slice-em-up where players take on the role of a robot gladiator thrown into fierce PvP and PvE battles. Players will be able to use a variety of weapons and gadgets throughout Clone drones in the danger zones online multiplayer, co-op and solo story modes when the game is offered for free between April 2-9.
