Dragon Ball Super Remake May Finally Fix DBZ's SSJ3 Vegeta Plot Hole

Dragon Ball DAIMA was a great anime and throwback to the original Dragon Ballbut as the final installment of the franchise written by Akira Toriyama himself, DAIMA brought with it a lot of problems. Between resuming how Kibito Kai disarmed after Dragon Ball Z and introduces Super Saiyan 4 Goku (although Goku says that Beerus' Super Saiyan 3 is his strongest form), Dragon Balls canon has never been messier. Unfortunately, the hyped introduction of Super Saiyan 3 Vegeta introduced a major DBZ empty hole. IN Dragon Ball Z: Battle of GodsVegeta's strongest transformation is Super Saiyan 2.

It's time for Dragon Ball to make its comeback in 2026

Dragon Ball may make a comeback in 2026. Fans are hoping that the anime or manga will return.

This is a major plot point that Master Roshi even comments on after Beerus beats Bulma during the movie. Now that Dragon Ball DAIMA has introduced Super Saiyan 3 Vegea, one of the Dragon Ball Z: Battle of GodsThe most important scenes no longer make sense. This wouldn't be a big deal if DAIMA was only one Dragon Ball GT-similar sequels, but both Dragon Ball DAIMA and Dragon Ball Super were both written by Akira Toriyama. The only way to fix these plot holes is re Dragon Ball Super remake comes true and rewrites Battle of Gods to incorporate everything Toriyama fed back into Dragon Ball DAIMA.

Dragon Ball DAIMA's Super Saiyan 3 Vegeta Retcon Created a Huge Plot Hole

Vegeta turns Super Saiyan 3 for the first time Dragon Ball DAIMA Episode 12. Notably, Bulma reveals that Vegeta unlocked Super Saiyan 3 by secretly training on Earth – a particularly dubious claim since Super Saiyan 3 Goku's power level was strong enough to be felt across the universe, but that's not the point.

This is a huge problem so far Dragon Ball the timeline is concerned since Dragon Ball DAIMA is canonically set earlier Dragon Ball Z: Battle of Godsand the rest of Dragon Ball Super. By all accounts, Vegeta should have had access to Super Saiyan 3 at the start of Dragon Ball Superbut all in Battle of Gods indicating that Super Saiyan 2 was Vegeta's strongest form at the time.

Vegeta's Rage Boost in Dragon Ball Z: Battle of Gods No Longer Makes Sense

About half way Dragon Ball Z: Battle of GodsBeerus slaps Bulma. Seeing his wife injured triggers a huge rage in Vegeta where he transforms into his strongest form – Super Saiyan 2 – and actually becomes stronger than Super Saiyan 3 Goku. This is not speculation either. Master Roshi bluntly comments on the fact that SSJ2 Vegeta has surpassed SSJ3 Goku, and Vegeta even manages to make Beerus bleed, while Goku failed to land a hit on the God of Destruction in his previous fight.

Vegeta's 7 Strongest Super Saiyan Forms in the Dragon Ball Franchise, Ranked

Vegeta doesn't have as many transformations as Goku, but that's simply because the Prince of All Saiyans don't need them.

Akira Toriyama often uses Master Roshi as his mouthpiece to establish martial arts superiority, so for Roshi to comment and confirm SSJ2 Vegeta's strength is a big deal. Unfortunately, this scene no longer makes sense in a post-Dragon Ball DAIMA world. Seeing Beerus slap Bulma unlocks all of Vegeta's raw power. He instinctively triggers his strongest form in a state of pure rage. If Vegeta had access to Super Saiyan 3, he would have transformed Super Saiyan 3. It doesn't make sense for Vegeta to hold back his strongest form and tap into SSJ2, especially since Dragon Ball DAIMA shows that SSJ3 Vegeta doesn't suffer from the same Ki drain problem that SSJ3 Goku does.

Dragon Ball Super Remake must fix Battle of Gods & Dragon Ball's Canon

At this point, the only way to fix this is Battle of Gods plot hole is for the rumours Dragon Ball Super remake to take Dragon Ball DAIMAs new plot points and makes them canon Dragon Ball Superalso. If Beerus beats Bulma and Vegeta doesn't go Super Saiyan 3, that means that too Dragon Ball DAIMA is non-canon, or something Dragon Ball DAIMA and Dragon Ball Super are officially set in alternate timelines.

In addition to making Vegeta turn Super Saiyan 3 against Beerus, the Dragon Ball Super The remake needs to have Goku use Super Saiyan 4 against Beerus. From the end of Dragon Ball DAIMAGoku can transform Super Saiyan 4 without Neva's help, so there's no reason for him to stay at SSJ3 during his first fight with Beerus – let alone tell the God of Destruction that Super Saiyan 3 is his strongest form when it clearly isn't. Dragon Ballcontinuity is currently a mess, and only one DBS remake can fix that.
