Ditto, these transformation abilities still need to be added to Pokemon Pokopia

Although transformation is literally the main thing Ditto does, Pokemon Pokopia still managed to make every Ditto transformation in the game feel brand new and special. Ditto can run around on human legs, take to the skies, swim up waterfalls and do several other amazing things.

That said, now that players have seen what Ditto can do, there's no reason to stop here. Given that Pokopia is likely to see DLC of some sort in the future, or at least updates with new features, there's still plenty of scope for new ability transformations that Ditto could undergo to make navigating Pokopia that much better.

Dito's lack of electricity is a little shocking

Hit 'Em Wit A Thunderbolt

Ditto and Peakychu are thinking and looking worried in Pokemon Pokopia.

After learning Peakychu's incredibly tragic origin story, we learn that it can still conduct electricity after starting a generator, which raises the question of why can't Ditto learn to do the same?

right now, your options for beating Pokopia include ugly power lines, build a massive underground power tunnel to hide the ugly power lines, or just deal with them until you get the wireless transmitter. That's perfectly fine for large objects like light poles, stages, or vending machines, but it shouldn't take all this effort to turn on a small light or register.

For this reason, it would be nice if Ditto could learn to use the generators as well and get the ability to turn on some small devices on your own. The other methods would still serve a purpose, but you wouldn't need to train an entire power supply system just because you want a small loop of light in a Pokémon's habitat.

11 things we all learned the hard way in Pokemon Pokopia

Just a few things we wish we knew before we started playing Pokemon Pokopia.

Getting to the heart of Pokopia would be easier with a drill

Believe in ditto who believes in you

Excadrill in Pokemon Pokopia.

For the most part, many of Ditto's abilities allow it to break down blocks and search areas fairly thoroughly, but that's not necessarily true when it comes to trying to get down into the center of mountains. On almost every dream island there is a big mountain that you have to get to the center of to find cosmetics, items and even legendary Pokémon.

Yes, you can look for cave entrances and Rock Smash your way through the sides, though it would be much more efficient to be able to drill straight down into a 4×4 square with something like Drill Run. Unfortunately, Drilbur and Excadrill would have been great options to teach a move like this, but there are still plenty of other Pokémon that could be introduced to teach this move, such as the Rhyhorn line.

Shadow Sneak can let you go through walls

He's a phantom!

Ditto and Litwick posed together in Pokemon Pokopia.

The Magnemite transformation ability offers many things, but one of the things it doesn't offer is the ability to phase through walls while building. This won't always be super necessary, but it would be nice when working on a building with multiple rooms and a roof.

For example, being able to phase through walls while building the SS Anne would have saved a lot of time running in and out of rooms and bathrooms to crafting stations and back again. Of course, there's probably a reason why this one isn't an option, as you could find yourself phasing through a pretty big and dense mountain, but it's still worth considering for the QOL benefits it would offer.

Ember could bring things up

Charmander was stolen in a teaching moment

Ditto and Charmander look upset in Pokemon Pokopia.

When you start Pokopia, you're pretty quickly introduced to the Kanto starters, Bulbasaur, Squirtle, and Charmander. Bulbasaur teaches you Leafage to pull up tall grass, Squirtle teaches you the Water Gun so you can restore moisture to the dehydrated area, and Charmander teaches you nothing.

Yes, you read that right. Charmander does absolutely nothing to teach you any kind of fire move. Not at the beginning of the match and not after the match. Instead, you must instruct Pokemon with Burn to follow you if you want to light something.

Now, you might think that this would defeat the purpose of Pokémon with Burn if Ditto could light campfires and other things by itself, but that's simply not true. Squirtle can still be used to water plants for you, and Bulbasaur can still be used to help crops grow, so Charmander and other Burn Pokemon can still be used to melt materials for you and serve a purpose.

It would just be nice to not have to run around looking for a Pokemon every time you need to relight a fire or a candle, and it's just weird that one of the three was left out. Hopefully this is already planned for a future update, which is why it was left out for now. After all, there is no snowy biome yet, and what would be better for that than learning a fire move?

Winter is completely absent in Pokopia

Let it go

Ditto looking sad next to Amaura in Pokemon Pokopia.

Speaking of cold areas that could potentially be part of a future update, something else that would be nice to see for Ditto is Ice Beam. When you use the Water Gun on the lava in Rocky Ridges, Ditto can make a path for itself that allows it to cross the area. So, what if the same was possible on water, but with ice?

Being able to use an ice move on water to create icy paths or blocks of ice that can be used to build frozen castles would round out the different biomes currently found in Pokopia. Even Blizzard, who can help you create a small blizzard, would be a fun addition to Ditto's lineup.

Of course, there's a chance Pokemon has already planned for this with a winter update or DLC that will add a frozen region to the game, so all that's left to do is wait and see what news we get over the next few months.

Sticky Web can make traversing Pokopia even more fun

Your friendly neighborhood

Spinarak in Pokemon Pokopia.

There are many ways to get around Pokopia, between rolling around like Graveler and flying like Dragonite, but more ways to get around is never necessarily a bad thing. Since so much of Pokopia has large mountains and cliffs, it seems only fitting that you have some sort of ability to scale them without having to fly.

As a fun example, something like Sticky Web, which can be learned from Spinarak or another Bug Pokemon, can let you crawl up the side of cliffs or buildings without the need for stairs or gradually ascending blocks. Yes, flying can get you to the top too, but this honestly sounds like more fun and can even make it easier to place blocks on the ceiling if you can hold on to them upside down.

Unless Sticky Web, then maybe even something like Vine Whip could be interesting if treated as a sort of grappling hook. You can place grapple points around that can be used to move across a certain space or quickly ascend the edge of the cliff. The options are endless.

1

Dive should have been included at launch

Ditto has drowned enough

Ditto drowning underwater in Pokemon Pokopia.

While all the other options would be fine, there is one standout ability that really should have been part of the main game, but will hopefully at least show up in a future update or DLC, and that's Dive. There's clearly a lot of scenery along the ocean floor, further supporting the idea that Dive will appear at some pointbut if it's not already on the list, it should be.

Players have gone above and beyond to show off the incredible things they can build in Pokopia, and some have even managed to extend it into underwater tunnels at the cost of constantly drowning, which is why Diving would not only improve the overall QOL of all players but also give those looking for new ways to be creative additional things to enjoy in the game.

Not to mention, aside from Magikarp, it's hard to imagine that many fish and aquatic Pokémon would enjoy land environmentsso without the ability to dive, it seems like many Pokemon would automatically be excluded as a possibility in future updates.

Perhaps Primarina can turn Ditto into a magical mermaid who can explore all the ocean has to offer. Not to mention, it would be a great way to build excitement for the upcoming Gen 10 games, Pokemon Wind and Waves.
