Battlefield 6 There are only a few days left until the release of Season 2, and hopefully it turns out to be exciting enough to bring some much needed hype to the FPS. Last year, Battlefield 6 was a record-breaking launch for the franchise, but it has also faced many ups and downs since its strong opening weekend. Between hit detection issues, claims of not large enough scale maps, controversial skins, RedSec complaints and still no charts in sight, Battlefield 6 has left many players frustrated.

There is, of course, still the chance Battlefield 6 to bounce back. The military shooter has only been active for a few months now, though Battlefield 6 Season 2 will need to provide some strong content if players are to stay invested (or come back to the shooter). And if a player is waiting for the game to improve or if they are just ready to leave Battlefield 6 behind and invest in another game, a free-to-play option can be the perfect placeholder. Delta Force has been out since 2024, and in that time it's proven to be an incredibly strong FPS that can fill the void quite a bit Battlefield 6 players have been left with.

Delta Force could be the answer that frustrated Battlefield 6 players have been looking for

It may not be marked with Battlefield name, but Delta Force feels incredibly close to the franchise where it counts. It's not a perfect game by any means, but it solves a lot of problems fans have had with it Battlefields latest post. It not only has features like Battlefield 6 lack, but it makes them pretty good.

Battlefield 6, Call of Duty: Black Ops 7and ARC Raiders all came out within a month, and they showed a fascinating shift in what gamers are looking for. Battlefield 6 and Black Ops 7 had strong sales, but ARC Raiders took the spotlight as one of the biggest games of 2025. It really put extraction shooters in the spotlight, and the game has gained a better reputation since its launch than Battlefield 6 and Black Ops 7 have. ARC Raiders felt like the first game to show how much potential extraction shooters have to be the next big thing and surpass FPS games. When Season 2 is released, it will be fascinating to see how Battlefield 6s update has been received. Before it launched, the game felt like a promising return to the franchise's roots. granted, Battlefield 6 has its strong points, but there's still plenty of room for improvement before it really feels like a true return to form. Season 2 is hopefully a step in the right direction, but only time will tell. Until then, Delta Force may prove to be a pleasant surprise too Battlefield 6 player. Even better, it doesn't cost a penny.
