But there's one particular Easter egg that feels like it hints at something more, and if it is, it will end a wait that's been going on for nearly a decade and a half. Specifically, BF Studios might just add Dino Mode in the near future – although there's a lot of emphasis on the “might”.
The Story of Battlefield's Dino Mode Gag
The initial push for Dino Mode can be traced back much further than that Battlefield 6as it finds its origin in the earliest days of Call of Duty and Battlefield rivalry. In an infamous 4chan post, a supposed Activision representative asked PC users why the original Modern Warfare 2 didn't sell as well on PC compared to consoles. As expected, trolls responded to this request citing the lack of dinosaurs as the reason for the discrepancy. Battlefield developer DICE wasted no time jumping in on this joke, which BF3 was packed with nods to dinosaurs. A campaign character was holding a dinosaur toy to his son, dinosaur toys could be found everywhere BF3s version of Wake Island, and dino tracks could be seen on some maps.

Dinosaur gags really took on a life of their own, as they have become a part of every game in the series. Whether it's a dinosaur key ring in a car underneath BF4 campaign, a roaring dinosaur on a multiplayer map or hidden fossils in BF5 multiplayer, dinosaur-related secrets have become part of the series' DNA. Of course, many fans have pushed for them to be more than just simple jokes, and claim so Battlefield should create a Dino mode that directly competes with Treyarch's Cod Zombies.
Various developers have teased such an experience, often in jest, even if the official one Battlefield Twitter asked if players would like to see a Dino Mode way back under BF3season after launch. Besides, there was hope for one Battlefield 5 Dino mode due to developers using dino-related gifs to reply to each other, although it turned out those tweets were teases for the Pterodactyl Easter egg. With so many rumors and possibilities, many have given up hope that Dino Mode will become a reality, although the latest tease feels a little different.
Battlefield 6's Dino Mode 'Teaser' Explained
On the Iberian Offensive multiplayer map in Battlefield 6player like bccbear has noticed a movie poster for “Battlesaurus.” Normally this would feel like business as usual Battlefield dinosaur gag and would be something that players look at once, laugh at, and never think about again. However, it's the inclusion of “Spring” at the bottom of the movie poster that feels a little more deliberate. Sure, real movie posters have the release date or window at the bottom, but if BF Studios was going for realism, it could have attached an actual day, month, and year as well. And if it wasn't an attempt to create hype, the said date could have been something that has already passed. Simply writing “Spring” feels like a hint that content is coming during that window, and such a teaser would make perfect sense given how BF6 is a live service game. It's actually even possible to limit when Dino Mode can come, if that's really what's being teased here.

Currently, fans are missing an end date for the game's first season, but based on when Battlefield 6s first flight plan ends, it will probably be in the middle of the end of January. If BF6 follows a typical 12-week season format used by several live service titles, January 20 will be the end date. Spring starts in March, so Dino could theoretically be late BF6 seasonal event for Season 2, but it's been talked about for so long that it feels like something that should headline a season and be the main theme of all the cosmetics. With this in mind, Battlefield 6s hypothetical Dino Mode would be a natural fit for Season 3, which will likely begin around April 14. To be clear, there's no guarantee that such a mode will come, as this poster could very well be another tease that goes nowhere. Gamers shouldn't get too excited until there's an official announcement, although the vague spring mention feels pretty deliberate.
While DICE was always content to limit its use of dinosaurs to cool Megalodon Easter eggs, dog tag designs, and cosmetics, Battlefield Studios might finally pull the trigger on the Dino Mode concept next year. With multiple teams working on the franchise now, there was room to create Battlefield RedSecso maybe there will also be enough resources available to make dinosaurs combatants instead of just having them lurk in the background. Whether this potential mode would be objective or round-based is anyone's guess, and what prehistoric creatures would be fought is also open to speculation. Whatever form it took, it would undoubtedly be interesting to see one of them Battlefields oldest meme turned into a PvE staple. After all, Cod Zombies has become a hit despite its humble beginnings, with the concept of the mode seeming ridiculous back in 2008. If it can work as well as it has, fighting a T-Rex in a tank could be as fun as it is absurd.
