Diablo 4's Doom Collab can't be a one-and-done Bethesda partnership

One of the biggest surprises Diablo 4 players can expect to see in the upcoming Season of Slaughter is a new IP collaboration with Doom: The Dark Ages. Developed by id Software and published by Bethesda Softworks, Doom: The Dark Ages was a standout shooter in 2025, received a nomination for Best Action Game and took home the award for Innovation in Accessibility at The Game Awards 2025. Now, Diablo 4 players will get to outfit their character with a variety of cosmetics reminiscent of the Doom Slayer and iconic enemies from Downfall series when this collaboration launches on March 11.

Given that both IPs focus on killing the demonic forces of Hell, it's not surprising to see the cruel world of Doom: The Dark Ages crossover with Diablo 4. Even if Downfall has an aesthetic that mixes technology with medieval fantasy and occult imagery, the cosmetics included in this collaboration still feel at home in Diablo 4especially compared to more sci-fi franchises like StarCraft to Diablo 4 have also collaborated with. This Downfall crossover also opens the door to the future Diablo 4 is partnering with other Bethesda IPs, some of which seem like perfect matches for Blizzard's dark fantasy ARPG.

With Diablo 4 pulls everything for this Doom: The Dark Ages cooperate, it would be a wasted opportunity if Downfall was the only Bethesda IP the game collaborated with. What a Diablo 4 x Elder Scrolls Crossover Could Look Like

Oblivion Remastered fan creates their own custom game case to make up for the lack of a physical release.

  • Daedric Armor skin

  • Daedric Weapon transmogs

  • Flame, Frost and Storm Atronach pets

  • Oblivion Gate city portal

A Diablo 4 x The Elder Scrolls collab seems like an obvious next choice for a partnership with Bethesda, as the two franchises share a similar fantasy aesthetic. An obvious cosmetic that could come from this collaboration would be a skin based on Skyrim's Daedric Armor, along with weapon transmogs based on Daedric Weapons that could be included in a free relics like those for the upcoming Downfall cooperate. It would also be fun to see iconic ones Elder scrolls creatures such as Elemental Atronachs in miniature form as pets for Diablo 4 player. Another slam-dunk cosmetic for a collaboration like this would be a city portal skin designed to look like the iconic Oblivion Gates that appear around Cyrodiil in The Elder Scrolls 4.

A Diablo 4 x Fallout Collab would work surprisingly well

Fallout's Deathclaw

  • T-60 Power Armor Skin

  • Super Sledge, Shishkebab and Ripper weapon transmogs

  • Dog meat pet

  • Deathclaw Head back trophy

  • Vault Door city portal

It might be a bit strange for a dark fantasy game like Diablo 4 that crossover with a post-apocalyptic sci-fi series that Fall-outbut Diablo 4pp StarCraft crossover proves to break from Diablo 4s typical aesthetic can work. The Fall-out the series has some surprisingly good cosmetics that could make it in Diablo 4like the series' iconic T-60 Power Armor, which could be a skin for Diablo 4 sign. Weapon transmogs are a bit harder to pull off since then Fall-out is so focused on weapons, but melee weapons like the Super Sledge, Shishkebab, and Ripper fit well with the weapon types already in Diablo 4.

Then most Diablo 4 collabs tend to include a unique pet for players to earn, Fall-outs Dogmeat companion seems like an obvious choice since then Diablo 4 already has other canine companions. The Cyberdemon Head back trophy included in the Downfall collab could inspire a Deathclaw Head back trophy for a potential Fall-out crossover, and a city portal skin based on a Vault Door would complete Fall-out theme. It is unclear what other IP collaborations Diablo 4 have in store for players, but everything seems on the table now after Doom: The Dark Ages makes his way to Sanctuary.
