Diablo 2: Resurrected has finally been released allowing players to jump back into the classic action RPG to slay hordes of demons and collect all the loot they can dream of. The game has been well received, with both newcomers and fans of the series flocking to go through the game's story to try and stop the titular Diablo from destroying the realm of the dead as one of seven distinct classes.
But after Diablo 2: Resurrecteds story is complete, players can jump into the game's endgame, adding tons of replay value to this timeless classic. The remaster's endgame offers players both PvE and PvP content to hunt for new gear, but some players looking to invest in the endgame may have a hard time choosing which of the game's classes to step up and build. Each class i Diablo 2 have builds that can succeed during the endgame, but there are three special classes of builds that ensure players will be able to conquer Diablo 2: Resurrecteds hardest difficulty and most punishing challenges.
Updated on February 17, 2026 by Luke Simons: Those preparing for the new challenges found in Reign of The Warlock (Diablo 2: Resurrected update 3.0) know that this content release is an absolute game changer. Not only did it add several new Runewords and Legendary Items (as well as two new Item Sets), but it released the first new class in 25 years: The Warlock. If players want to know how the Warlock runs in the end game of Diablo 2, they should check out how it ranks among the best classes to run on the highest difficulty.

Wizard
The Warlock is not a remake of the Necromancer, but an entirely new class with brutal AoE damage, single and multi-target nukes, and massive crowd control effects that will leave even Prime Evil vulnerable for various precious seconds. The Warlock is a master demonologist, capable of destructive magic, fierce and telekinetic powers, and blood-cursing curses.
He can basically dominate and control all demon-type enemies in the game (except Prime Evils and Lesser Evils, of course), binding them to his will and absorbing their power to use as his own. He can also summon his own demon minions (Goatmant, Tainted, Defiler) all with unique abilities that will greatly improve the Warlock's survivability and damage. But perhaps, its most broken aspect, is its ability to use two-handed weapons in one hand, while retaining the ability to use a shield or Grimoire. This gives the Warlock an almost unfair advantage in both PvP and PvE builds, setting it apart by a level from every other endgame class in the game.
Paladin
It's not a stretch to suggest that the Paladin is the best late game class Diablo 2: Resurrected without much argument. This widespread recognition has emerged for one reason only: the Hammerdin build can take care of any monster in any quantity.
Diablo 2: Resurrected Every Class, Ranked
Diablo 2: Resurrected brings back a classic debate about which class reigns supreme. Here's the full breakdown of where they stand so far.
No class has the ability to tank damage against the game's most elite bosses. It's all about dishing out damage before attackers can get close. Since the Paladin can cover his entire light radius with Blessed Hammers, nothing can survive up close after he becomes fully equipped. More so with the latest Runewords that can greatly strengthen this already broken build.
Witch
Among the top players who love Diablo 2: Resurrected, they will all have one character in common. Why does everyone have a perfect lightning sorceress if they want to show society that they are serious about the game? The answer is simple: Efficiency, great farming and the best carrying potential in co-op.

Frankly, it's the fastest clearing class in the game after she gets the gear she needs. Since the endgame involves farming equipment and runes, it stands to reason that the class that does it most effectively is also the best. The community may disagree on their favorite class, but there is certainly consensus on who takes down endgame content the fastest. Although with the latest addition of Warlock, the Sorceress title as the fastest clearer in D2R could be in danger of being overtaken (that is, if the Ring of Fire/Echoing Strike Warlock Builds aren't fixed soon).
Necromancer
When it comes to cutting through immunities, no one can do what the Necromancer does. Only one other class can partially cut into immunities (Paladin). Necromancer is the only class that can completely remove immunities, both magical and physical. And in terms of incredibly broken builds, the Necromancer also excels as a Summoner (with its Unstoppable Army build), ranked above the Druid in power.
As if that wasn't enough, the Corpse Explosion spell deals damage based on the monster's overall health, meaning that in higher difficulties where monsters are ridiculous damage sponges, their larger HP pool is actually an asset to Necro. The stronger they are, the harder the blow will be when their corpses explode. So the Necromancer has no problem adapting when the difficulty scales up, as the biggest obstacles like immunity and stronger monsters hardly bother him. As such, it takes some degree of skill to master, but his learning curve isn't as steep as other classes.
