This article contains spoilers from the Demon Slayer series.
Demon Slayer has had a phenomenal 2025, and that's largely due to the incredible release of the Infinity Castle movie that broke all kinds of records this year. Infinity Castle was absolutely sensational and not only generated a huge amount of money for the franchise, along with pushing it to the top of the Japanese box office and create history in the process, but it also did good for the manga.
Demon Slayer: Gotouge's next manga has already been teased, and it might be better than Demon Slayer
Demon Slayer was a huge hit, and its creators may be planning a new manga.
As is the case with all anime movies, fans know very well that they continue to boost manga sales tremendously. Demon Slayer received a massive increase in sales despite being discontinued almost 5 years ago now, and this increase lasted for a significant portion of that time. But the hype of the Infinity Castle movie is fading, and Demon Slayer is surpassed by other series. The series falls under likes One Pieceamong other things is no surprise. But it has actually now been surpassed by a new manga, called Demons of the Shadow Kingdom. This new manga is written by Hiromu Arakawawho fans may remember as the original writer of Full metal alchemist.
Daemons Of The Shadow Realm has surpassed Demon Slayer in November manga sales
As previously mentioned, Demon Slayer has been on the receiving end of a pretty massive increase in sales latelyand that's understandable, given the massive success of the movie Infinity Castle. Sales for this manga have hit the roof and it continues to be one of the best selling manga every month. It seems though sales for this manga are decreasing with each passing monthand that's a given, especially when other major series get newer volume releases.
What is surprising is that one of the newest manga series, called Daemons of the Shadow Realm, by the same author of Fullmetal Alchemisthave now surpassed Demon Slayer in November sales. Demons from the Shadow Realm got a new volume release recently, and that's definitely benefited it a lot when it comes to outdoing Demon Slayer. This new manga is also getting an anime adaptation, which will only push it further. Some story from the author of Full metal alchemist will always be amazing to watch.
As for the numbers, Demon Slayer had 128.7k sales for the entire monthwhich spans all its volumes. In the meantime, Daemons of the Shadow Realm had 156.6k saleswhich is a pretty impressive number for a new manga, and one that hasn't received a proper anime adaptation yet.
Demon Slayer continues to perform strongly after the success of Infinity Castle
While it goes without saying Demon Slayer loses to many other manga series every monthmust be remembered that it actually has no new volume releases and all it has is content from about 5 years ago. For it to perform so strongly in the Oricon charts shows just how big the Demon Slayer franchise has truly become.
Demon Slayer will officially kill anime forever
The Demon Slayer movies are a huge hit, but they're ruining the anime.
One must also remember that Demon Slayer is not finished yet. The last two Infinity Castle movies are sure to boost sales significantly. The biggest sales boost the manga will get will most likely come after the final Infinity Castle movie finally airs, and fans should be very excited about that.
Daemons of the Shadow Realm have enormous potential
On the other hand, Daemons of the Shadow Realm have enormous potential. Fans of the manga have been absolutely in love with what the story has had to offer so far, and that's also one of the many reasons why it has received an anime adaptation so quickly.
It seems like this story is going to get more popular and the anime is what most fans are counting on to further boost it and expose it to a global audience.
Daemons of the Shadow Realm continues to impress fans, and sales are starting to show it as well. Hopefully, it will become one of the biggest manga in the coming months, and eventually reach numbers in the millions, which is something a series from such an excited author deserves.
