When he eventually gathered the courage to explain the same to his parents, they paid no attention to his warnings. Eventually things took an unfortunate turn. Our village has a legend of a big snake. A shrine that is said to have 200 years of history and worships a large snake. It's called tsuchinoko shrine.

Evil Eye, Kito family and the Mongolian death mask
Jin has lived in his home in Byakuja Town for a while now. As mentioned earlier, he always had a gut feeling that some mysterious power haunted the property. It is interesting that Enjojis never bought the house and had to live there rent-free from the Kito family. Although their actions may seem generous, they have hidden a scary truth that can potentially put hundreds of lives in danger.

8 things dandadan do better than almost every anime
Dandadan has many strengths that put it over many other anime on the market.
It turns out that Jin's family was not the only family who lived in the damned house. Technically, the house was built on top of many other houses for decades. At some point in the past, it was discovered that a Mongolian death mask or Tsuchinoko lived in the volcano in Byakuja city. The villagers believed that if Tsuchinoko was hungry, the volcano would somehow become active and put people's lives at risk. This belief ended with becoming the cause of a cruel ritual where children were offered the Mongolian death mask for the city's security.
Over time, the Kito family took responsibility on its shoulders and continued the tradition of ritualist victims. In the heart of this cruel practice, the house was where children were once imprisoned from the eyes of society for months, before they met their terrible ending. Among them was also a child who desperately would look out of the small window in the room to see the children his age play at a distance. He desperately wanted to go with them, but like others he was also killed to calm Tsuchinoko.
That child stopped becoming a spirit. Although he was originally kind and gentle, things slowly took a dark turn. At some point, the Kito family built a house where he was once imprisoned. Families would move into the new home, probably attracted by the Kitos offer to let them keep rent-free and become a victim of the mongolian death mask's mental suicide waves. These dangerous waves would drive adults in the family to take their own lives, while the children were left. The Kito family would then imprison such children to be fed to Tsuchinoko.
The Spirit tried to become friends with many of these children, but always ended up scaring them instead. He saw a child after the other and met the same brutal end as him. Over time, he was filled with a huge hatred of humanity and turned into the vengeful Yokai called The Evil Eye. But because he had no ship, the murders continued in the damned house, as many families were destroyed. Jin's parents also became almost a victim of Tsuchino's mental suicide waves, but he intervened at the right time to save them.
Unfortunately, the evil eye ended up deceiving Enjoji to sympathize with him and turned him into his ship and gained access to a physical body. The damned house only became more chaotic in the light of these events, while the years of horror committed because of its grounds continued uncontrolled. Now that Okarun and his friends are fighting against the Mongolian death mask and the evil eye together, they have the chance to turn the village of Byakuja and save it from the curse that has been haunting the village for decades.
