While most fans watching believed Strickland had done more than enough to secure a unanimous decision victory, one judge saw it differently.

As Bruce Buffer read the scorecards, Strickland was perplexed and threw his hands under his arm in anger over a card.

Judge Dave Tirelli scored the bout 49-46 in favor of the Brazilian fighter. His card was in stark contrast to that of his fellow judges who had given 49-46 and 50-45 to Strickland.

White didn’t bite his tongue when asked about the obscure scorecard during his press conference debrief.

“There were some weirdos (who) were fucking crazy, that’s what it was. Crazy,” he told her.

“That guy should never referee a big match again! They should bring him back to the minor leagues and let him work on his judgment. It’s incredible.”

White questioned the sanity of everyone who watched the main event and scored the bout in favor of Paulo Costa.

“I mean, like anyone who isn’t an absolute lunatic could call that fight a split decision. I don’t even know what to say about it, it’s crazy.”

White wasn’t the only one left infuriated by Tirelli’s score with UFC fans exploding following the announcement.

MMA writer Aaron Bronsteter wrote, “I can find reason to rationalize most of the scores presented by the judges, but 49-46 Costa is indefensible.”

MMA writer Mike Bohn wrote: “49-46 Costa is a criminal. My goodness.”

MMA Fighting editor Damon Martin wrote: “He just scored Paulo Costa to win 49-46. Really get him out of the building.”

The scoring chaos wasn’t the only moment of madness on the night that former US President Donald Trump came to sit cageside.

The convicted felon stole the show at the star-studded event when he stepped out in front of more than 15,000 fans inside the Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey.

It was just 48 hours before the 77-year-old was found guilty on all 34 charges in his secret trial in New York.

Despite all this, Trump appeared more popular than ever as he walked past screaming fans.

Walking alongside UFC boss Dana White, Trump shook hands with spectators and posed for photos.

When he reached the cage he turned and threw his hands in the air as the crowd grew even wilder.
