Call of Duty: Black Ops 7's Season 2 is coming to a close, and with it comes the launch of Season 3. While many fans are still wondering exactly when the new season will begin, Treyarch and Raven Software have revealed the start date, along with everything players can expect in their official blog post. With the release of Season 3 just around the corner, Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 players have the chance to claim a new Operator Bundle completely free of charge.
When does Season 3 start in Black Ops 7 & Warzone?
Season 3 for Black Ops 7 and War zone officially begins Thursday, April 2 at 9 a.m. PT. As this is the launch of a new season, players will need to complete a title update before they can play once it launches. This date will also mark the end of the Season 2 Battle Pass and Season 2 Weekly Challenges, giving players until April 2nd to fully complete them.

Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 & Warzone Season 3 Full Content Breakdown
Multiplayer Content: Maps, LTMs and more
Kicking off the first line of content are new maps for Multiplayer, some of which are remasters of old classics. Beacon (6v6) and Abyss (6v6/2v2) are the two brand new maps for the season, followed by Plaza and Gridlock (6v6). Both of the latter maps are remasters, in which Plaza was first seen Black Ops 2and Gridlock from Black Ops 4. The final map that players can jump into at launch is Mission: Tridenta Skirmish map that takes players to the Old Arsenal POI from Black Ops Royale's Avalon.
For modes, The demolition will return at launchthe attack and defense mode from before Call of Duty titles. Aim High also returns as a Moshpit playlist under the launch windowwhere body shots deal significantly reduced damage, but headshots instantly eliminate enemies. The The Snipers Only Moshpit also arrives shortly after launchwhere all weapons, gear, scorelines and more are limited, leaving players with only snipers in their loadouts.
Warzone Content: New Verdansk POIs, Avalon Battle Royale and more
At launch, Verdansk will get a new POI for Season 3. This is the arrival of the Launch Pad on the south side of the Promenade, with important landmarks such as the Hangar, Gantry and Control Tower. This new POI is also coming trigger the Flashpoint Public Eventwhich fires missiles at a randomly selected POI. The biggest content, however, is the arrival of Avalon for regular Battle Royale playlists.
Later in the season, shortly after the launch, Avalon will be added to the main map rotation for Battle Royalebecomes available together with Verdansk. Avalon will have its own unique Gulag, but will not include any new POIs. Additionally, for standard Battle Royale, wall jumping and Grappling Hook will also be introduced.
Rounding off War zone-only content is new modes. The first at launch for Season 3 is Launch Squad LTMwhich only takes place at the Launch Pad POI in Verdansk. In this respawn mode, groups compete to obtain launch codes and fire the POI's rocket by eliminating other players. The Iron Gauntlet is also coming later in the season to Avalonwith its own rewards, though it may not be until the mid-season update.
Season 3 Ranked Play: Arrive in season with new rewards and more
Season 3 ranked play for both Black Ops 7 and War zone coming soon after the launch of season 3offers new rewards for players to earn. This season, Rated Play: Resurgence for War zone will take place on both Rebirth Island and Haven's Hollow. The map pool for Multiplayer Ranking Play has yet to be revealed, but it will share the same CDL Major III map rotation across these modes: Hardpoint, Search & Destroy, and Overload.
Endgame content: Operation Poison Pill, quality of life updates and more
The endgame launches with one of the biggest updates since the mode's inception. At the start of Season 3, players can progress through Operation Poison Pilla season-long event with new challenges that unlock a variety of rewards, including new Operator Skins, Blueprints and more.
As for the game, Link Forger Glitch arrives. This Glitch Zone has players facing new waves of enemies on Nightmare difficulty and also allows them to earn Override Skins for their Operators, along with two new Camos. Other updates include the introduction of Restore Tokenswhich allows players to keep all progress and loadouts if eliminated, and the new Warband Skill Trackplus a minor ability: Aether Blade from MWZ.
The endgame updates are an overhaul of carrier loadouts. As of season 3, weapons, field acquisitions and equipment will no longer be shared between operatorsallowing players to build unique loadouts for each. When Season 3 begins, your active operator will retain their charge, while all other operators will be reset to a default charge.

Zombie Content: Ashwood Survival, Zombie Battle LTM and more
Kicking off the launch content for Zombies Season 3 is Ashwood Survival (supports Cursed Mode). This takes players to the Ashwood POI for Ashes of the Damned, starting in Rabbit Alley. Pack-a-Punch can be found on the lower level, hidden in the fog, with endless waves of Fog Zombies. Paradox Junction Directed Mode also launches alongside Ashwood Survivalguides players through the Easter Egg Main Quest to earn unique rewards.
New modes will also arrive at launch. The first is Zombie battlewhere up to four players compete in different starting rooms on each map and survive endless waves until only one player remains. In addition, the starting room mode returns for season 3.
That wraps up the launch content, but Treyarch has been teasing mid-season additions, including the next big zombie map, Totenriech, coming with Season 3 Reloaded.
Global Content: New Weapons, Scorestreaks and Limited Time Events
Rounding out the Season 3 content lineup is a bunch of global additions. New weapons arrive at launch and in season, along with new accessories, Scorestreaks and more. Here's a rundown of everything to come:
