Borderlands 4's Halloween event has some players going back to Borderlands 3

There's no denying that Borderlands 4 has been a success. Whether it's review scores or sales figures, this is a legendary decline. However, it has had its fair share of hiccups with performance issues, invisible walls, and unintuitive UI annoying players, but all of that could still be pushed aside. But fans were really disappointed with how shallow the Horrors of Kairos Halloween event was.

Although it was a “mini-event” in Gearbox's own words, the build-up to it led players to believe there would be some more content than just an orange hue in the sky and some skins and weapons. With the lack of a proper Halloween-themed event, it seems some fans are going back to Borderlands 3 to get their fill of ghoulish content.

Borderlands 3's Halloween event was much better

Bloody Harvest Borderlands 3 Event

Borderlands 3 wasn't really the best game in the series. Some would actually go so far as to say it was the worst. A couple of annoying antagonists, Claptrap that made us roll our eyes at every turn, and a rather bland story made the title one to forget. But its Bloody Harvest Halloween event brought those stuck with a lot of new content, like enemies, activities, side quests, and even a new debuff called Terror.

Over on Reddit, Borderlands fans couldn't help but talk about how awesome the Borderlands 3 event was, especially considering what Borderlands 4 got. A post by UltraSuperDonut on Reddit revealed that they booted up Borderlands 3 just to experience a great Halloween themed event. The comments also appreciated the amount of content Gearbox put into it.

Along with praising the amount of content Bloody Harvest contained, fans also noted that the minimap and overall user interface of Borderlands 3 was so much better than that of the current title. Hopefully, Gearbox is already working on improving these aspects as it adds more content to Borderlands 4.

While Horrors of Kairos was supposed to be a mini-event, the developers probably messed up by calling some new skins and weapons an “event.”
