Borderlands 4 offers players 3 new SHIFT codes redeemable right now for Golden Keys. Some Borderlands 4 players who want to take advantage of this change while it's available must redeem these SHIFT codes before they expire on October 20th.
Loot is a big part of Borderlands 4 experience, and the golden keys earned through SHIFT codes give players the chance to earn Borderlands 4s coveted legendary weapons from Golden Chests found in major in-game settlements: Belton's Bore, Carcadia, The Lockaway, and The Launchpad. By linking the account of their chosen platform with the SHIFT site, Borderlands 4 players can enter these codes and have golden keys delivered directly to their inventory.

Gearbox CEO Randy Pitchford is offering 3 new SHIFT codes via his X account: TZR3T-JZJKJ-WXJTC-T33TB-RFCFR, 3S6TT-CZJWT-WXJT5-3B3BJ-JS3JZand J96BJ-RZJWB-C6TJC-BBJJJ-5B5W9. These codes can only be redeemed for 48 hours after they were posted, which was approximately 2:09 PM PT on October 18th, making October 20th the deadline. Each gives a single golden key, which can only be used in Borderlands 4 to open a golden chest once, though each chest has the potential to offer multiple legendary gear.
Redeeming a SHIFT code is quite easy once players have linked the account of their desired platform to the redemption site. Players simply need to enter the code as written (copy and paste works too), then click the “Check” button to confirm that the SHIFT code is still valid. Once validated, players will be prompted to select the platform they wish the reward to be redeemed on. After making this choice, players should be able to open their Borderlands 4 game and find the newly added golden keys in their inventory under the dollar sign tab that shows their currency.
SHIFT codes that give players Golden Keys have long been a staple in Borderlands comics and is a particular favorite freebie in the community. Then Borderlands 4Launch Gearbox and Pitchford have been very generous with the number of Golden Keys given away via SHIFT codes, and players who miss these codes' October 20th deadline can rest assured that more SHIFT codes are likely to arrive within a week.
Additionally, players have been able to participate in community challenges for the chance to earn SHIFT codes that unlock special Vault Hunter skins. Rafa's Savings Savor skin, Amon's Cult Classic skin, and Vex's Mass Market Appeal skin are all available for free as a result of players completing their community challenge milestones. The current community challenge unlocks a SHIFT code for Harlowe's Maliwannabee skin if players can collectively complete 350,000 contracts as a Vault Hunter by October 19th.
