With the release of Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 just days away, fans have learned the file sizes for the game on PS5 and PC. Call of Duty games usually require players to have a lot of free space on their machines to download, and Black Ops 7 will continue that trend thanks to its huge file size.
This fall has been an exciting time for first-person shooter fans, as two of the biggest franchises on the market will go head-to-head. EA released Battlefield 6 on October 10, bringing the first new installment in Battlefield series since 2021. Now Activision is ready to offer its next blockbuster shooter in Black Ops 7 on November 14. While it's unclear which FPS will ultimately sell the most copies, both will be among the most popular games of the year. As a result, many players are curious about how much free space they will need to allocate on their machines.
Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 File Size
Before Black Ops 7s release date, some players have learned how much storage space they will need for the game. According to PlayStation Game Size, the download size for version 01,085,000 (HQ) is 96,677 GB on PS5. While this is already huge, there are additional packs related to the game if players want the complete thing Call of Duty experience. These include the Co-op Campaign Pack at 15,594 GB and the Warzone Pack (01,020,000) at 19,734 GB. When you consider these, the total exceeds 130GB.
It is worth noting that Black Ops 7 needs at least 116 GB on PC at launch. Currently, the download size on Xbox Series consoles is unclear. But it will likely be similar to other platforms, meaning players should make sure they have plenty of space available beforehand.
Interestingly, these reported file sizes for Black Ops 7 means that it is significantly larger than the last one Battlefield installment. While the file size of the Battlefield 6 varies by platform, a full install was around 75GB on PC at launch. It is worth pointing out that the file size of the Black Ops 7 may be adjusted in the future. Activision has reduced the size of the Call of Duty HQ app before.
While the file size for Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 is huge, the game comes with a lot of content. Activision recently confirmed the list of multiplayer maps and starting modes, offering many options for players. In addition, the publisher recently revealed all the operators coming to Black Ops 7 at launch, with some available at the start and others that must be unlocked.
