Big spoilers forward for Bo6 Zombie's billing map.
Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 Season 5 has taken the game's zombies content in the end, and for the most part the bill on the landing. There are some interesting lore explanations for things like the location men, some well -activated payments such as Gray's reaction to what happened to Samantha and a fun layout that feels really fresh for the position's map design. Sure, there is criticism to have had, for example, Pano's deserted feeling rushed, Gorgofex Wonder Weapon is undoubtedly weaker than it should, and so on, but a complex main mission with several ends and some entertaining boss battles finally make the map a win a win. That said, its end will be a hit or miss depending on who is being asked.
Depending on which path is chosen, either Sam or Richtofen will win the day. The first -mentioned road sees Black Ops 6 Players who defeated a mechanical carrier Richtofen, where the director did not save his family. Sam then gets the human form she has been looking for, with AI seeming to keep her powers on top of it. Richtofen's end is much more positive, with the unpleasant AI defeated and Richtofen reunited with his wife and son. However, none of these results are what has shared society, since fans are instead discussing what happens afterwards. In both scenes, the last thing that players see some new variants of the original four characters who go out of the shadows and welcomes the terminus crew “to the party” as a cliffhanger for Black Ops 7S story. Unfortunately, this teaser did not leave me anxious to see what happens thereafter, which is a first, because everything from Origin's end to Terminus's final scene had left me excited for the future.
As complicated as the original Aether history was, I absolutely loved it. It was an important part of my teens, because I still remember reading theories and watched videos that break down the radio scattered over each map. The community gathered to calculate the story, just as it had to do for Easter eggs, was always a special experience, and an official timeline that was not released until Black Ops 3Zombies Chronicles DLC meant that many interpretations were valid. IN Black Ops 4Although the Aether history ended, and even though I wish it played differently – a fight with Dr. Monty, is the promised big war map and a last playable experience with the classic heroes everything that really should have happened – to re -check the conclusion is problematic in my opinion. As such, I am not excited about the old characters who return as some other fans are … I am disappointed.
Why Black Ops 4's end is Retconed is such a shame
Although it is true that Primis and Ultimis deserved more than a slideshow in the slideshow (fully animated film had been scrapped by that point in Black Ops 4Life, as many developers had moved to Black Ops Cold War), Take there the end of the tot was still influential. Players learn that Richtofen had extended the inevitable Black Ops 3 Zombies, as there was no alternative for Dempsey, Takeo and Nikolai to survive outside the bike they were caught in. For the undead threat to really be eliminated, both Primis and Ultimi's versions of the original four characters must be destroyed for good, something Nikolai did himself.
What was particularly effective with this conclusion was not only all campfire conversations hidden in the tag Tot that built up to it, and it was also not Samantha Maxis to have to close Primis Nikolai to fully complete his assignment. Instead, it was Sam and Eddie's walk into the new universe where players hear what Primis and Ultimis would do in their ideal lives. This moment struck myself and many others hard because of the idea that we would never see these characters again after bounding them for several years. Their last words were an emotional intestinal tray that held me for hours after I first heard them, and while the road to this passing was unfortunately rushed, the end worked well and gave real finality. But now? It feels pointless.
Customs calls have always leaned to nostalgia, whether it is the years of delivery and nuketown reinforcements, some sub-weapons that are constantly arising, or Black Ops 6Prestige rewards, which are theme around classic Black ops game. Hell, part of the reason why Blackout worked so well was because it was a tribute to what came earlier, as its POIS consisted of multiplayer and zombies areas while all its playable characters came from the franchise itself. Still, the nostalgia grip of reviving the classic crew without any explanation for why they are back feels like a step too far for me, and a bang in the face of Nikolai's tragic victim in the tag Der Toten. Although the end was imperfectly presented it as an end, and Treyarch will have a lot of explanatory to do if it wants to motivate the original four back for Bo7 – as it must do besides providing a cannon that ends for Bo6Explain Pano's benefactors and more.
There is also the question of Takeo's voice actors to think about, like a stroke left Tom Kane who cannot voice act back in 2020. Given the relapse to Samantha's reworking Bo6fans will undoubtedly be angry to see kane replaced when takeo returns Bo7.
Black Ops 7 Zombies playing the biggest hits don't feel necessary
Given how successful Black Ops 6 Zombies have been, it's strange that Treyarch is digging up the corpse of Richtofen, Dempsey, Nikolai and Takeo. The studio could have leaned entirely into the history of chaos in the future and finally picked up on the rockhangs from ancient evil. Given how O4 was just brought back from Blue, Scarlett and the gang would not appear less scrubbing, and a fish-out-of-water scenario for their dialogue could have made them fun to check. Alternatively, Treyarch could have driven forward with the Termus crew, as they have been a solid role of characters. Sure, they could use a little more development – especially Carver – but it feels like they are unlikely to receive it now. With the most iconic characters back they are likely to be the playable role for Bo7 And figures that Weaver comes back at Radio Service and act as map guides instead of getting prominent moments themselves.
It is unclear what name this new zombies crew has. Tempest has been thrown around by fans, as well as Medius, which means medium in Latin and can represent how they seem to be a mixture of ultimis and primis.
To take back the old crew have some fans revived, because they love the era of Cod Zombies where they were in focus and only that era. I understand this view, and I would be lying if I said they were not my favorite characters too. Still, as much as I love them, I would prefer it if they were left alone and new ideas were explored instead. The whole situation feels desperate and comparable to RDJ returning to MCU as Doctor Doom. Sure, it's not really the same characters, so the victims that are still “important”, but it becomes harder to care about everything that comes after. If we grow linked to these new versions of Richtofen, Takeo, Dempey and Nikolai over the next few years, just for their story to end, what is it to stop another set of variants from replacing them? Funny enough, it feels like we are all trapped in a bike where everything comes back to the same role of characters in the end, no matter what Treyarch is trying to do.
The Dark Aether history that made its own cause with only a few returning characters was brave, and it felt like it finally began to find its foot, just for Treyarch to turn back to the “safe” method. On the bright side, Tom Hendersons reports on Bo7 Returning the OG crew that proves correctly means that his map-related claims are probably also correct. At least I have bold map places like a Nuked New York City to look forward to, because after this nostalgia game I am a little worried about where The Dark Aether history goes. For several years, Cod The Zombies story was as important to me as the game, but in the future I could get stuck in a place where the only thing I can be invested in is the game.
