The new one Arc Radii The event is officially live and brings new, free content for players to enjoy. Along with the snowy Cold Snap map, players will be able to complete the Flickering Flames project, which is similar to the expeditions you've done all season.
This means you'll need to find and donate a range of materials you find while scavenging, including the newly introduced Candle Berries. But one material required very early on is the empty wine bottle, which isn't something most players would actually hold until now. Here you can find this valuable and what it is used for.
Where to find empty wine bottles
Like other valuables, Empty wine bottles are classified as both residential and commercial materials. This means you have a much higher chance of finding this item at any point of interest designated for this type of loot. Here are some of the best places to find empty wine bottles on the various maps:
- By the Blue Gate
- Ruby Residence and Pale Apartments at Dam Battlegrounds.
- Grandioso Apartments and Plaza Rosa in Burried City
When it comes to finding the empty wine bottle, I've actually had the best luck looking around the Village on The Blue Gate. This is both a commercial and residential area that is absolutely packed with apartment buildings that you can loot. Hone your focus on something cupboards, refrigerators or chests of drawers as these seem to have a higher chance of the empty wine bottle spawning.
Be sure to go up each floor, as each building houses several apartments, most of which have kitchens that you can loot. Also, the north side of the Village is where you want to start, as the south has far less housing and far more storefronts and shops.
Grandioso Apartments and Plaza Rosa are solid options when I'm chasing an empty wine bottle. Similar to the village, these areas have a nice density of lootable homes that you can root through. But this map is also much more chaotic and PVP-driven, so you almost certainly have a higher chance of someone trying to shoot you here.
Unfortunately, empty wine bottles cannot be crafted, purchased, and no item is actually recycled into them. That means you have to find it by looting!
That said, similar to the village, aim for any lootable containers in and around the kitchens, as these are good, consistent places where this item seems to spawn. Also, the library on the north side of Buried City is another good choice, but the exposed nature of the building makes it a bit more difficult to really secure and loot without the possibility of someone just walking in on you.
Finally, just northwest of the Hydroponic Dome Complex, both Ruby Residence and Pale Apartments are worth considering. A collection of apartment buildings. These are another decent place to find valuables – especially common ones, since this area isn't associated with any level of loot.
No matter where you search, In fact, I recommend not looking for an empty wine bottle in the Cold Snap event itself. This is because the Cold Snap event increases the rarity of loot you find, meaning that common items like this will actually be harder to find. You'll want to hunt on a regular map without an event, to ensure that regular items are, well, more common to encounter!
Remember, you only need one empty wine bottle for the Flicker Flames event. Any others you get can be sold or crafted into Agave Juice if you have the blueprint for it.
