Naruto is one of the greatest shonen series of all time that needs no introduction. At its best, Kishimoto's series boasted incredible world-building, a cast of memorable characters, and a fun power-up system that made its battles a joy to witness.

However, the battles are only one of many aspects of Naruto which makes it so much fun to watch. Some jutsu are also used in non-combat situations that fulfill many utilitarian purposes and are just as important as combat techniques.

A convenient Jutsu to make a house out of nowhere

Yamato is an exciting character introduced in Naruto Shippuden who wastes no time impressing fans with a unique kekkei genkai that was only used by the first Hokage. Wood Release is not only a blast to witness, but it also allows fans to glimpse the First Hokage's powers to further his legacy.

A unique technique he displays is the ability to create a house out of nowhere, making missions with him more convenient. It's a nice way to make Yamato seem more endearing to the audience without taking away from the power he wields as a Wood Release user.

Sai can be a hard character to like early on, especially given how antagonistic he is towards Naruto. But the nine-tailed Jinchuriki's charm wins him over, allowing him to smile for the first time as he realizes he has friends to rely on.

Sai's signature jutsu involves breathing life into the beasts he draws on his scroll. While this is useful in battle, Sai can also conjure beasts that allow humans to ride winged creatures and track certain ninjas with other appropriate beasts.

Akamaru transformed into Kiba to create double trouble for Naruto, Gamabunta transforms into the Nine-tailed Fox to grab Gaara's Shukaku form, and Tsunade maintains a unique version of this jutsu at all times to maintain her youth. It is a prevalent jutsu in the series that is mainly used for tricks.

5 Medical Ninjutsu

The missions undertaken by the ninja are far from easy, with injuries and wounds common in this profession. That's why a medical nina is a must in a squad going on a long and dangerous mission.

Sakura and Tsunade are the strongest medical nines in the series and use this technique to heal both themselves and others. Tsunade boasts an impressive version of medical ninjutsu called Creation Rebirth, which is the ultimate regeneration technique that requires years of mastery to use. It heals wounds instantly, making it more useful in combat than other forms of medical ninjutsu that are usually used outside of combat to heal wounded enemies.

4 Shadow Clone Jutsu

Useful in ways other than just adding more bodies to a fight

The signature jutsu of Naruto Uzumaki is used in battle quite often, but it is far from the only use of this technique. A Shadow Clone can multiply a user's potential to process information and learn techniques, making it one of the most useful cloning techniques in the series.

Without this technique, it would have been impossible for Naruto to master the Rasenshuriken in record time and locate Sasuke during their search. His mastery of this technique allows him to become a full-fledged ninja and take his first step towards becoming Hokage.

3 Izanami

A Genjutsu that forces the target to change heart

Izanami is one of the most overpowered genjutsu in the entire series. It's only fitting that this ability can only be accessed by users of the Sharingan, an impressive dojutsu that is one of the coolest kekkei genkai in the series by a country mile.

Using Izanami, Itachi was able to trap Kabuto in a loop where he would experience a painful and humiliating death over and over before he changed his heart and accepted the truth deep in his heart. The appearance of this use is quite comfortable but helps Itachi stand out even more as one of the greatest shinobi in Naruto.

2 Kotoa Matsukami

One of the Sharingan's ultimate abilities that manipulates the target's memories

Another Sharingan genjutsu that is as impressive as they come is Kotoamatsukami, Shisui's ultimate jutsu that he can use to force another reality onto someone without their knowledge. One of the biggest reasons why Danzo is obsessed with Shisui's eyes is because he wants to master this technique.

Shisui's best friend, Itachi, is given this powerful eye and uses it to try to convince Sasuke to see the light. Instead, this technique comes into its own when Itachi needs to free himself from the Edo Tensei bonds that bind him to Kabuto, allowing him to take on Orochimaru's lackey and remove the Edo Tensei technique, throwing a wrench in Akatsuki's war effort.

1 Infinite Tsukuyomi

The ultimate genjutsu meant to trap the entire world in an illusion

There aren't many genjutsu that cause war to be fought, which says a lot when it comes to illustrating the powers of the Infinite Tsukuyomi. The Jinchuriki of the Ten-Tails with the Rinne-Sharingan can activate this technique, using the moon to brainwash the entire world and force them into a perfect illusion with little or no strife.

Despite this jutsu being used during a war, the whole point of Infinite Tsukuyomis is to negate all conflict and turn it into the ultimate non-combat jutsu of the series. The promises of happiness this mass illusion brings are false, so the heroes fight to avoid this fate and save the world from Madara's diabolical plan.
