Best Megabonk Characters, Ranked (List of All Characters)

In total there are 21 characters in Megabankmost of which are locked at the start of the game. Each character has a starting weapon and a unique passive ability that grants stat bonuses with each level up or other perks. But not all Megabank characters are made equal. Although the game receives many balance updates, some consistently stand head and shoulders above others.

It is true that players can complete a run with any character Megabank as the randomized nature of the game means they will eventually stumble into a powerful construct. But the best characters in Megabank have a significantly easier time completing level 3, reaching the third stage and defeating the final boss.

This character list ranks all 21 characters based on their scaling potential, starting kit, and other factors that separate the worst from the best characters in Megabank.

Updated on December 27, 2025 by Ashely Claudino: The Spooky update introduced players to several items as well as a brand new character with a unique starting weapon. Once players gain access to the Graveyard map in Megabonk, they can begin working to unlock the scythe and Roberto. This guide has now been updated, and it contains the latest character to be added to Megabonk.

This list is of course subjective. Players may not do well with an S-tier character and have a much easier time getting to the Final Swarm or the Tier 3 stage boss with another character. This will depend on the players own playstyle, the items they pick up along the way, and the shrine perks they choose. The leaderboards are constantly changing, and it may be due to some new exploit or a new patch. When not, it becomes a healthy mix of all available characters

S Tier Megabonk characters

Calcium, Bandit, Dice Head and Robinette

The best Megabank characters (in no particular order) are Calcium, Bandit, Dicehead, and Robinette. These four best characters in Megabank ranks so high on this Megabank character level list for the same reason: their scaling potential.

  • Calcium passive increases its damage based on current movement speed, which can be pushed to ridiculous heights by the third stage.
  • Dicehead's passive was absolutely blown in the launch version of the game, but it's still an extremely strong ability if players can get a lot of XP gain early.
  • Bandits Dexecutioner proc happens more often when they increase attack speed (and get some Joe's Dagger items).
  • Robinette's Bow is good for clearing waves, but her passive becomes more and more powerful as the player's run progresses. In the third stage, with tens of thousands of gold on hand, she can pump out game-breaking damage numbers.

The four A Tier characters are far from the worst characters in the Megabankbut they don't quite have the starting bias and scaling potential of the best classes. B Tier Megabonk characters

Athena, Bush, Tony McZoom, Vlad

Megabonk Character Tier List Cest Characters Tony McZoom

After the best characters in Megabank comes four characters that can be broken, but are simply not at the power level of S and A Tier characters. Players shouldn't have too much trouble getting to stage 3 with these B levels Megabank characters, but they won't have as easy runs as they can with higher characters.

Nevertheless, some of these characters are very popular among them Megabank fanbase – Vlad and Athena in particular can turn into powerhouses and easily survive to the final boss fight. It just takes a bit more effort and more niche builds/better luck to get them to that point compared to the best Megabank sign.

C Tier Megabonk characters

Amog, Birdo, Fox, Ninja, Noelle, Ogre, Sir Chadwell, Spaceman, Roberto

Megabonk Character Tier List Cest Characters Ogre

Generally speaking, there are no bad characters in it Megabankbut some characters are just harder to play, don't have a good starting weapon or a useful passive, or can be hard to min-max unless you get very specific items during your run.

Spaceman, for example, starts with the Black Hole item, which has its uses, but unless he can find other powerful items, weapons, and upgrades, he won't be able to do much except reposition enemies.

Birdo's Tornado starting weapon is considered one of the worst in the game, but his passive synergizes extremely well with the Scarf item, increasing mid-air damage.

Roberto's starting weapon, the Scythe, is a good complement to Megabank as it cuts enemies in all directions. His float ability is also good as it allows players to jump over certain enemies and avoid taking hits in the early game. Also, the free chests he gets periodically are awesome. But his other stats leave something to be desired, and he isn't very strong at anything.

Players should not necessarily avoid playing as these characters Megabank – many are useful for certain challenges or have unlocks attached to them. But if they want to play a simple character who can make it to the final boss without too much effort, look elsewhere.
