Baldur's Gate 3 is perhaps one of the biggest adventures you can have in the forgotten kingdom, including acquaintance Lore, magic, monsters and unique characters in this memorable story. However, the game does not include everything, and some of its limitations can be considered a step back from its possibilities.
Fortunately, there is a dedicated and creative fan base of modds that can really unlock BG3 to its maximum potential and include important changes and extensions that completely change the game. Especially for players who want a new experience on a new Playthrough, these mods will make the game feel new.
Fantastic multivers
Dungeons and souls
While Vanilla BG3 offers many choices for your character in terms of racial options, D&D 5th edition has many source books and extensions that give players many more options. There are even races in the base game, such as Goblins and Kobolds, which would otherwise be available to players in TTRPG on which the game is based.
Fantastical Multiverse opens up these options to include almost every single playable race throughout D&D, especially those already on the sword coast and thereafter. This can drastically change your protagonist to something that the game never expected, which makes a much more unique experience.
5th magic formulas
Celes
To keep BG3 slightly balanced and offer a variety of iconic magic formulas from Lore, you can find a handful of recognizable magic formulas from D&D, as well as some unique. 5E-Troll formulas are a courage that unlocks almost the 5th edition's official pole list, all the way to ninth levels like Power Word: Kill.
This courage is purely a way of massively increasing the available options as a spell passer, giving you access to buildings and combinations that the base game could never have made it possible for you to do. There are some changes in magic formulas, such as Druidcraft, which do not translate perfectly into BG3's mechanics, but still offer a mechanical advantage.
Unlocking curve
Charis
The maximum level you can reach in BG3 is 12, one for each available class, and acts as a way to balance characters and enemies. But when you reach the level CAP, the development then feels like beating chores from a list without any real ability to improve your character further.
The unlocked level curve modes allows you to even out your character to the same level CAP within D&D and become a real hero with almost unlimited force. This gives you access to further feats and improvements in ability, along with powerful class functions that you were always supposed to have access to.
Party border forerunner
Silder
One of the slightly submerged parts of BG3 is that you are forced to keep a certain number of your followers in the camp, while only four of you are allowed to explore the sword coast. Although this is done for balancing reasons, you not only miss a potential companion, but miss to involve the entire party at once.
Party Limit Begone lets you take all sorts of companions at once, which not only gives you a strong advantage towards the Darn brain but allows you to experience all their jokes and interactions together. You also have much less to fear when your entire party on 12 rolls up in Baldur's Gate.
If you are worried about balancing, be sure to play on more difficult difficulties so that you do not stomp each meeting.
Artificer Class and all subclasses
Kider nynicism
First created for the Eberron setting of D&D, where Tech meets magic and there are trains and weapons, artists mix their knowledge of machines and Arcane. Reintroduced in the official fifth edition source books, artists can be considered one of the core classes and are both iconic and very fun to play.
The Artificer class and all subclasses MOD aim to give BG3 players the same experience and add an important D&D class to the game that does not break the game's in -depth or balance. Courage contains all underclasses for the 2014 edition and more clothing options made for BG3 rather than an accurate translation from D&D.
Lostsoulman
Core Game of D&D has so many feats with more added each source book that it is really difficult to keep up with them all, and unfortunately BG3 does not even include everyone from the core book. Even then, most of the feats only serve to affect the food rolls or add some damage rather than updating your play style.
Feats extra fixes this by adding over 40 additional feats, which extends from letting you create practical meals to budding draconian wings from the back. This fashion fits well with the unlocked level curve mod, as you will be able to add more of these unique feats to your repertoire than otherwise possible.
No romance limit
Wilhelm
Although there are a couple of romantical alternatives in BG3 that do not mind if you share the wealth, so to speak, most will not allow you to have more partners at the same time. This means that if you want to experience all available options, you must either create multiple characters or break so many hearts.
No romance limit is a simple courage that makes a huge difference in the story, which means you can experience all sorts of romantics of the same character, and all their unique cuts and dialogue together. Now your unoid polycule of strange and amazing companions can save the world while you look it up.
You have to rest for a long time to make sure you don't miss potential scenes.
VFX library
Shivero
BG3 has some really fantastic visual effects that make some magic formulas and explosions live up in ways as a table record player literally could only imagine. However, it can always have more effects to add certain magic formulas or abilities, especially as there are a handful of reused assets that are transported over them.
The VFX library adds over 1,000 new visual effects to the game and even changes the tracks and effects of some magic formulas to better match the D&D versions. This courage is perhaps the most obvious visual improvement you can add to BG3, in a way that will wow you as soon as you can start throwing magic formulas.
Many more monsters
Rob Lapham
Although there is so much to explore and find in BG3, the game may start to feel a little empty in some corners of the map or when traveling to different interesting places. Especially on your second or third Playthrough you will start to wish that there was little more to include in the world and meetings.
Many more monster fixes are an ideal way, by deepening with more meetings and adding lore -friendly monsters to existing meetings to make the game more engrossing and versatile. It even adds random imitations that give some intensity to otherwise average exploration.
