Battlefield 6 players are not happy with the BF Pro bonus path

Battlefield 6 players call out the latest BF Pro bonus path to effectively force users to spend in-game money to unlock everything in time. EA's shooter was one of the most anticipated games of 2025, and while it got off to a solid start, it has since struggled to keep its player base happy. Looks like things aren't getting much easier for Battlefield 6 in the new year, as its new content still rubs fans the wrong way.

Times have been tough for FPS lately. A recent analysis suggested that Battlefield 6 was losing ground to its main rival, with Call of Duty maintain strong player engagement metrics that Battlefields place slipped in the rankings. The game also ran into an AI art controversy after widespread complaints about the technical performance of its Winter Offensive update, and as it continues to roll out new content, fans continue to take issue with the game's live-service approach.

ARC Raiders, the newest extraction shooter on the block, secures another huge victory over Battlefield 6 to end 2025 with a bang.

Battlefield 6's new BF Pro bonus path only gives players 7 days to complete it

As Redditor Venirto pointed out, the new BF Pro bonus path only lasts seven days but has 10 levels to complete. According to the user, “the vast majority of the player base” would not be able to sink enough time into the game in the short window to unlock everything by completing challenges. This means that the only way for most people to complete all 10 levels is to spend Battlefield Coins to skip them, which can mean spending real money if players haven't earned enough in-game rewards. To make matters worse, the final reward in the bonus track is a skin Battlefield 6 players have accused of cheating one Call of Duty logo, which may not feel like a fitting reward for completing 10 levels in just one week.

This is far from the first controversy BF Pro has encountered. The premium upgrade, which costs an additional $24.99 on top of the $70 base game, has regularly annoyed fans by locking seemingly small features behind the paywall. When Season 1 first rolled out, Battlefield 6 players criticized BF Pro Radio Station, which was little more than a paywall of songs to listen to in-game. The ability to host 100-player servers in portal mode is also exclusive to BF Pro, while many players argued that it should be available to a larger portion, if not all, of Battlefield 6 community.

Other users in the comments on Venirto's post called out the latest BF Pro number to be symbolic of larger problems with the game's gate. One called the gate “excruciating”, while another said they “just can't commit” to it anymore as a busy father of two. The fans have spoken out Battlefield 6s development almost as long as the game has been out, and while EA has since tweaked its challenge system, this latest scandal shows that players still feel the game is asking them to do too much in too little time to earn in-game rewards.

With Season 1 likely ending sometime in the coming weeks, it's unclear how future BF Pro bonus paths will try to win fans back. Many players who responded to Venirto's post said they won't be buying another battle pass after being disappointed by this. It could be an uphill battle for the game as a whole, like Battlefield 6 became one of the series' lowest-rated games on Steam in November, with only the highly mocked Battlefield 2042 with worse reviews. Now that it's a new year and Season 2 is sure to be released shortly, EA has a chance to right some wrongs, but it's still uncertain if and how that will happen.
