Battlefield 6 has quietly fed the XP bot farming lobby in a new update, fulfilling a promise made to the game's community last week. The new one Battlefield 6 the update brings some big changes to how XP is awarded in some portal lobbies.
Since its launch, some players have been using Battlefield 6s Portal mode to join lobbies filled with bots, kill them easily to level up weapons and complete challenges quickly. While this is technically allowed, it wasn't exactly what Battlefield Studios intended Portal to be used for. So last week the developer confirmed plans to nerf those XP bot farming lobbies.

The developer certainly hasn't wasted any time – a new update is being quietly pushed Battlefield 6 has removed Mastery XP and challenge completion from any portal lobby with bots enabled. This change should essentially kill Battlefield 6 bot lobbies in their tracks, meaning players must revert to normal matchmaking to continue ranking their weapons.
The existence of these XP farming lobbies highlighted the slow development in Battlefield 6. These lobbies were conceived as a community solution to this prominent problem. With them now gone, it has the potential to get even worse for the players. When announcing plans to remove the bot farming XP lobbies, Battlefield Studios confirmed it Battlefield 6 will be increasing progression rates soon, so hopefully this change will come sooner rather than later.
The nature of trying to find balance in all areas of a game that Battlefield 6 is that changes come extremely quickly. This has already been seen in some early updates to the game, such as the changes found requested Battlefield 6's Conquest fashion tickets. The developer made a controversial change, players complained and it was quickly reverted. Players should expect to see more of this kind of thing as Battlefield Studios continues to refine itself Battlefield 6.
