Baldur's Gate 3 Have adjusted its Patch notes in September 2025 to reflect the support for Intel Xess as it forgot to mention. While Larian Studios is working hard with other, currently unspecified, future projects, the company has not abandoned its massively successful RPG 2023. Updates for Baldur's Gate 3 Still rolls out, and the latest is even bigger than it originally seemed.
Larian has made it clear that the studio shifts its focus away from RPG, but it has not prevented its popularity. After the last major update came out in April 2025, Baldur's Gate 3 Drew over 169,000 simultaneous players on Steam, a jump of more than 100,000 people during the day before. Since then, the game has received several smaller notes and hot fixes, but at least one was not quite as small as players may have thought.

On September 30, a week after the last note went live, Larian tweeted that it forgot to mention the update includes support for Intel Xess on compatible devices. When it first came out was the largest highlight of the September update that Baldur's Gate 3 Now a native steam building, which gives handheld users a more consistent experience and better performance. Support for Xess may not be as much announcement, but players who use Intel Tech or third party GPUs who have Xess will gladly know that they can now get more out of their installation in the game.
While Intel debuted its XESS -Scrub technology in 2022, it has taken some play time to update and support the competitor to Nvidias DLSS. Now the year 2023 game joins in the growing list of titles that let players push resolutions even higher through the technology, and not everything Larian had to announce. In a response to the tweet that revealed XESS support, the studio commented on a new freezing problem on PS5 and says that players can temporarily fix it by turning off performance mode.
Larian explores the problem and works with a long-term solution, but the tip can still be helpful for Playstation users in the meantime. Improving PS5 performance is a big deal right now, like at least 26 new Baldur's Gate 3 Mods has come to consoles recently. Fixing the crashing question should help players enjoy these mods while Larian is working on a permanent response to the problem. Beyond that, future patches and threat fixes will safely come Baldur's Gate 3 Will not get more major updates.
