Minthara Romance Guide:

Unfortunately for players, romancing Minthara has some pretty big consequences for their party. If players want Minthara, they must betray the Tieflings and Druids and side with the wizard army. This will cause a lot of trouble between the protagonist and Wyll and Halsin.

This romance isn't possible unless the player is prepared to make a lot of slightly evil decisions, but for some it might be worth it in the end.

When entering the Shattered Sanctum, players must use their wits to avoid getting into fights with goblins or hobgoblins along the way. When players meet Minthara, they must avoid saying anything about killing her, give her the location of the Grove, and agree to help with her raid on the Druid's Grove. Join her and the goblins to take down the Tielfings and the druids.

If you're playing as Durge, be careful not to sound too excited about wiping out the Emerald Grove. Minthara is ruthless, but she is about the Absolute. Doing this for the joy of killing is seen as excessive for her.

When given the option, select the first option: Obey and open the gate for Minthara and her troll army.

Once the Druid's Grove is destroyed, players can return to the secluded chamber. Minthara will be there and she will agree to meet the player at their camp.

At camp, when you talk to her, tell her, “Yes, I am yours, Minthara.” Then, that night, when players click their Bed roll
can they choose to associate with Minthara.

Select “Do as she says” for the next prompt. After that, choose “I want you.” This will lead to a long-lasting romantic encounter away from the camp. After the encounter, you will have the opportunity to speak with Minthara free of the Absolute's grasp. You can be honest here, as Minthara seems at least partially willing to open up. But no amount of piety or honesty will stop what happens next.

After returning to your bed, Minthara will sneak up on the player and try to attack them. There seems to be a variety of ways the subsequent conversation could be, but one thing remains clear: to stop the attack, you must pass a Skill check. If you pass the check, Minthara will not attack. She instead goes to Moonrise Tower, where she tells you to meet her. She also provides a way to bypass the Shadow Curse now that Halsin is unavailable. This leads to Act 2.

When you get to the Moonrise Tower in Act 2, you'll find that Ketheric Thorm has captured Minthara. You can free her to recruit her as part of your party. This allows you to continue your relationship to Act 2.

How to Romance Minthara in Act 2 – Good Walkthrough:

With the latest patches, it is now possible to recruit and romance Minthara without betraying the Emerald Grove. This requires the following steps:

  • When you reach the Shattered Sanctum, stay neutral until you reach MInthara.

  • Talk to Minthara and convince her that you will help her clear out the Emerald Grove.

  • Once this is done, attack her with Non-lethal attacks. Make sure she is marked as Temporarily hostile. Do not kill any of the other enemies in the chamber while Minthara is still conscious.

  • Once she's knocked out, you can free Halsin and defeat the remaining True Souls. You will be treated as if you never agreed to help Minthara.

  • When you arrive at the Moorise Tower in Act 2, follow the directions outlined in the link above. It will play out the same as if you romanced Minthara in Act 1. You must pose as True Souls to enter the tower and then help Minthara escape.

  • When Minthara is in your party, be sure to take her everywhere with you. Minthara will approve of hostility, force, and generally anything that lacks compassion or kindness. It will take a while, but you can still go through the same process of romancing her from Act 2. The scene will play exactly the same when she approaches you to instigate it.
