Dune Awakening Dev provides update on consolving plans
Funcom shares a new update on Dune: Awakening, reveals when the long -awaited survival MMO is expected to land on consoles.
Unfortunately for Funcom, it is the PVP aspect that seems to be the source of many complaints about the game so far. In a response to a post about the game's Reddit Community Board that describes problems with Dune: Awakening PVP, creative director Joel Bylos said that the development group is working on “a bunch of changes/fixes” to deal with complaints. He asked for the players' patience when Funcom prepares the kinks in the recently launched MMO. Dune: AwakeningPVP mode takes place in the deep desert, a zone at the final level wrapped by deadly sandstorms. Unlike other regions in Arrakis, play in the deep desert is always opposites, and players can be attacked by other players at any time. Players can also raid each other's bases, with PVP victories and defeat that binds to Dune: Awakening Land -raised endgame activity that can have a great influence on the course of events on a given server.
According to players, one of the biggest issues that affects Dune: Awakening PVP Play is an overly fast Respawn -Timer. A poster named RustyPipe7889 said that when they play both large and small-scale fights in the deep desert, Respawn-hour “is almost immediate”, with many players who can return to the battle after being killed in as little as 12 seconds. As a result, PVP struggles become a number game, with larger teams that eventually overwhelmingly smaller, well-equipped teams by “zerging” them with effectively endless reinforcements that are rapidly spent. Other players complained about the lack of autumn and collision injuries to Dune: Awakening Vehicles, which allow players to use ruthless suicide tactics without consequences.
Other Funcom developers have responded to complaints from players about PVP. In a response to a question about Respawn Timers, the Funcom Community Manager Ignasi Sastre said that the speed of Respawn era is unintentional and will be fixed “in an upcoming patch.” While they expressed frustration over the condition Dune: Awakening Endgame activities and PVP, players praised Funcom for their habit of responding directly to player requests and comments.
