The prerequisite for Attack on Titan is absolutely brilliant, and the execution of the story is still brilliant. There is absolutely no denying the fact that Attack on Titan is one of the greatest stories ever written in the manga medium and of course anime. Over a decade ago, anime series were often seen as quite immature. While fans all over the world watch various TV shows and read many interesting stories, anime and manga were often neglected, especially in the West, and much of that was due to the fact that these stories were not considered mature enough to give fans a deeper meaning.
However, the newer series continued to change this misconception. Attack on Titan had a big part to play in this regard, given its mature themes and very dark execution of the story. Attack on Titan went on to build a defining legacy for itself. What's even crazier is that it managed to do all that while being a shonen series aimed at young boys. Attack on Titan's plot, characters and of course the lore that Isayama introduced to the story were all absolutely brilliantand fans certainly can't complain.
To this day, it is considered one of the greatest stories ever written, and it extends beyond just anime and manga. In fact, many consider Attack on Titan to be the best story, and to be fair, it certainly lives up to that standard. While it goes without saying that Jujutsu Kaisen is bigger in terms of sales right now, and possibly even in terms of popularity among fans worldwide, the legacy that Attack on Titan left behind is still much bigger. Attack on Titan defined an era and was primarily responsible for making anime as popular as it is today. In fact, in many ways, you could even say that Attack on Titan laid the groundwork for Jujutsu Kaisen to flourish as much as it has.
It must also be remembered that Attack on Titan and Jujutsu Kaisen offer two very distinct things. Attack on Titan is heavy on the science, and the suspense. In the meantime, Jujutsu Kaisen is very different because it focuses on high level combat. Fans almost always love fighting in anime and manga, and that gives Jujutsu Kaisen a huge advantage.
