Japan is filled with beautiful castles from the high majesty in Osaka Castle to the eye -catching white walls in Himeji. Of course, Assassin's Creed Shadows Includes the scenic castles in their world, especially as places like Yasuke and Naoe have to infiltrate. When designing these castles, Assassin's Creed Shadows Team took inspiration from Japan's many real examples and noted the robust defenses, many traps and smartly hidden areas designed with intruders in mind.
Game Rant spoke to Assassin's Creed Shadows Art Director Thierry Dansereau and associated gaming director Simon Lemay-Comtois about Assassin's Creed Shadows' Castle, and they discussed the team's research trip to Japan, where they visited real castles and used them for guidance. Dancereau explained that castles in the game have “Maze-like architecture” to present a fun challenge for players who infiltrate as Yasuke or Naoe as they try to defeat the guards and highly ranked enemies within.

Japanese castles are like real video game levels
