Assassin's Creed Shadows Dev Says We'll Be Seeing More Of Kassandra In The Future

Ubisoft and Assassin's Creed Shadows keep us guessing with every piece of news. Over a week ago, the company delayed an investor call at the last minute, prompting rumors of a takeover. It turned out that the company is actually doing quite well and Shadows sold well above expectations.

More recently, Shadows' Attack on Titan crossover was criticized for having terrible cutscenes. And despite its success, the game's second expansion has been scrapped. Now it appears that the series will bring back Kassandra from Assassin's Creed Odyssey and even plans to keep her for future content.

Kassanda could possibly return to Assassin's Creed

In the latest update, Shadows finally added references to The Isu, the precursor race that featured heavily in the pre-RPG era. There was also a reference to Kassandra and other main characters from previous games. We've already seen Kassandra make an appearance in AC Valhalla, now that she's immortal, but associate game director Simon Lemay-Comtois hints that she may have a meatier role in the future.

“We really want to see Kassandra in there,” Lemay-Comtois said in an interview with JorRaptor (thanks, GamesRadar). “And, yeah, she's immortal at this point and she could very well show up in Japan, so we kind of connected the dots. Without revealing what it is, we made up a story about when she went to Japan. What was she doing there? She was doing more, apparently, than just stuffing things into a cave.”

He revealed that she obviously didn't carry all this stuff around the world by herself and probably had a whole crew to help her. But all this was not just a fun Easter egg, Lemay-Comtois explained. “We have a rationale as to why there is a Kassandra statue that Kassandra took to a cave. We might reveal it sometime later. We did our homework. We [didn’t] just drop Cassandra there. And this isn't the last Isu content that will be in Assassin's Creed Shadows.”

I already forgot everything that happens in Assassin's Creed Shadows

Shadows may have perfected RPG combat, but it's by far one of the most forgettable Assassin's Creed games to date.

Based on this information, it looks like Kassandra could be a recurring character in the series' future. Perhaps she will take on a sort of mentoring role for future protagonists.
