After being in development for over a decade, Skull and bones did not meet expectations at the beginning of the year. However, it wasn't the only game that launched to less than desirable feedback. August would bring forth Star Wars Outlawsand it was met with severely mixed reviews from critics and players alike. Sure, both games have improved with post-launch updates and patches, but the two titles are still viewed unfavorably and have been reduced to memes in some corners of the internet. It's hard to imagine a scenario where a creative director of a game would allow a remake that didn't honor the original well.
