ARC Raiders permanently bans cheaters

Developer Embark Studios continues its fight against the onslaught of cheaters in its successful third-person extraction shooter, ARC Raiderswhen it starts permanently banning those caught cheating. Like many live service titles, ARC Raiders has been inundated with cheaters since its hugely successful launch in October. But with some of the game's biggest streamers calling for Embark to make some big changes, it looks like the studio has now taken things to the next level.

ARC Raiders has been hugely successful for developer Embark Studios, but fame always comes with a downside, as the game's massive popularity has also attracted the attention of cheaters and hackers. Although I am only three months old, ARC Raiders has already been taken over by aimbotters, exploiters and just about every type of cheater you can think of. Fortunately, the studio has not turned a blind eye to the problem, as it recently issued a statement regarding the cheating issue in the ARC Raiders. Embark says it takes the matter very seriously and is currently in the process of implementing significant changes to its rulesets and implementing new detection mechanisms to identify and remove cheaters.

This ARC Raiders concept would solve some of the players' biggest gripes

A dedicated ARC Raiders player has designed a concept that Embark Studios might want to take a look at, as it would solve some of players' biggest concerns.

ARC Raiders Cheaters are now permanently banned

While Embark says they are taking the cheating issue seriously, fans and streamers seem to be getting tired of seeing very little action from the studio. This week, one of the ARC Raiders' biggest streamers threatened to end the game if Embark doesn't make some quick fixes to the number of cheaters running out. “Fix this or I'm actually out of here,” TheBurntPeanut said during a recent live stream after being repeatedly killed by the same three hackers. While he would later go on to say that it was a “heated moment” and understands that Embark is working hard to make the game good, the studio has clearly heard the complaints of Peanut and his fellow streamers, as it has now begun banning cheaters permanently.

Embark first started banning cheaters ARC Raiders earlier this month, but fans took great issue with the fact that these were only temporary bans and not permanent bans. Now, following the complaints from TheBurntPeanut and other streamers, the studio appears to be permanently banning players caught cheating. “After a month of them doing nothing, your whining made the difference in them finally taking action. Use your voice more,” said fellow streamer Thump, revealing that the cheater in question had now been permanently banned from ARC Raiders.

TheBurntPeanut may be the greatest ARC Raiders streaming around right now, but he's not the only one frustrated with cheaters ruining the game. Earlier this month, former Counter-Strike and Valorant pro Shroud, who also regularly live streams ARC Raiderssaid Embark has “no control” over its game. Similar to Peanut, shroud blown ARC Raiders and even threatened to end the game entirely if no action is taken. While regular players also encounter cheaters, streamers face additional problems, as they are constantly streamed by hackers, making every single game of ARC Raiders almost impossible to play.

Hopefully this will be an important step in Embark's fight against cheaters, with further anti-cheat improvements to come. The studio has yet to reveal the roadmap for 2026 ARC Raidershowever, a developer recently revealed that there are several maps that will be released in the next 12 months. A new Toxic Swamp map mod is also rumored to be coming as early as next week, but this has yet to be made official by Embark.
