A couple ARC Raiders players on PlayStation 5 and PC recently decided to turn off crossplay for a week to determine which community had friendlier people, which resulted in some interesting findings. ARC Raiders was released on October 30 and is currently available on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC.
Despite having a strong PvP element, it is not unusual for players within ARC Raiderscommunity to meet and help each other. In fact, players recently beat one ARC Raiders community event that asked players to donate resources to unlock the new Stella Montis map. The response from players was so strong that Embark Studios increased the amount of material required, and the community still reached the goal in under 24 hours.
ARC Raiders players test the PS5 and PC communities
In a recent post on Reddit, Monstras-Patrick shared images of an experiment conducted by two solo players, one playing the popular extraction game on PlayStation 5 and the other playing on PC. For this experiment, both players shut down ARC Raiders' crossplay feature, meaning they were only placed in lobbies with people on their own platform. The person on PS5 participated in 84 matches and met 237 people. Of those 237 people, 17.72% wished them luck, 24.47% said they were friendly before shooting anyway, 43.04% shot on target, 11.81% teamed up but betrayed the player during extraction, and 2.95% actually teamed up and remained friendly through extraction.

On the back, the person playing ARC Raiders on PC seemed to have a completely different experience. They participated in 51 matches and ran into 172 people along the way. Of the 172 players, 56.98% wished them luck, 4.07% lied about being friendly, 27.33% shot on target, 1.74% betrayed the player on extraction, and 9.88% teamed up and remained friendly all the way through. Overall, it seems the PC community is not as confrontational and can be more honest about their intentions when declaring themselves friendly or teaming up. It's worth noting that none of the players played on Xbox Series X/S, so there's no way of knowing how that community compares to PS5 and PC.
While some players are concerned about which platform has the friendliest community, others have declared that it is safe ARC Raiders skin is a red flag when meeting people. For example, the Raider Deck's Ryder skin has a reputation for being hostile. However, this does not seem to apply to all versions of the cosmetics. Instead, people have specifically complained about players using the Ryder skin with a mask and no helmet. With so much content to explore and even more just around the corner, many fans are feeling optimistic about the future ARC Raiders.
