Any superhero game that is still under development after Black Panther cancellation

EA Motive – Iron Man

Officially announced in September 2022, EA Motive is still developing its Iron Man game. There is still no official revealing trailer or release window for the game, but EA has repeatedly assured the fans that it develops nicely. In the same statement that confirmed the closure of cliffhanger and the cancellation of its Black Panther game, EA Entertainment repeated President Laura Miele again repeated that Motive's Iron Man game is still in active development.

In addition, Miele stated that EA's multititle agreement with Marvel is still in place, regardless of Black Panther's cancellation. Now Motive will lead the development of all future EA -Marvel titles during this deal. It was originally said that this deal was for three matches, so after Iron Man there are at least two more EA Marvel projects to come.

Skydance New Media – Marvel 1943: Rise of Hydra

First was announced in October 2021 as simply “a storytelling, blockbuster action adventure” collaboration with Marvel, Skydance's Marvel 1943: Rise of Hydra Has shown several trailers in recent years. The most recent exhibition of Marvel 1943 took place in March 2024, where some very impressive unreal Motor 5-driven graphics were on full screen.

Marvel 1943: Rise of Hydra Recently delayed the launch and is now aimed at a 2026 release window. According to Skydance, this was done to “add more Polish and make sure we give you the best possible experience and one that lives up to our vision.”

Insomniac – Marvel's Wolverine

Was announced back in September 2021, Insomniac's Wolverine The game has not seen in any official capacity since its first disclosure. Marvel Cosmic Invasion comes from Tribute Games Inc., the same studio behind the praised Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Shredder's Revengeand has a current publishing window in 2025.

Arkane Lyon – Marvel's Blade

One of the biggest revelations of Game Awards 2023, Arkane Lyon's Marvel's Blade will see players take the role of the titular daywalker when he cleans Paris for a vampirical attack. Not much information has been given since LeafThe first trailer and concept art drop, and there is no official word in the game's release window. But some recent rumors indicate that fans may wait until 2027.

The current state of DC video play

While Marvel still has many irons in the fire after Black Panther's cancellation, it cannot be said the same for DC after Wonder Woman's. There are currently no DC games (apart from Wolf among us 2) confirmed to be in active development. That said, there may be some projects in the works related to the new DCU, with Peter Safran who recently confirmed that he, James Gunn and CEO of Global Streaming and Games Division JB Perrette all meet regularly with Netherrealm and Rocksteady.
